To be fair, if I lived in Newcastle I'd go anywhere for a few hours somewhere else too.
Massive club, go to most towns and cities in England and you will find a Newcastle fan or fans.
Newcastle are a much bigger club than us. No right to have a go really.
It must be something in the air up there... All they seem to care about is who is bigger... Leeds even try to have a rivalry with Man Utd to justify their huge size... Then there is the MASSIVE... hmmm Good job Yorkshire is a big county!

Yet the majority of us are happy to say we're not a big, big club and never have been / will be. We're a club of great history and a great story. We have increased greatly in 'club size' over the Amex years but won't pretend to be up there with a Leeds or Newcastle - most of us wouldn't want a club that size. We have our own identity and **** me we took 1400 to Barnsley from the south coast and we will be proud of that - it's excellent. And even in the days when we were struggling our away support was healthy enough.

While I think comparing our support to Leeds and Newcastle is laughable, I was hoping for at least 1,500+.

The money you save living in the north compared to the south east means all the fans of northern clubs should more easily be able to afford to travel than their Sussex counterparts. Only 6000 from Newcastle, when you can buy a house there for around two and six? Shocking!
Yes these ex prem big clubs have big fan bases all over the country and that's why they have big away followings....Our away support up north normally hits around a thousand and 2k + in the midlands, but Brighton unlike any other club has to go through the busiest motorways in England and that's only 25% of the journeyWhile I think comparing our support to Leeds and Newcastle is laughable, I was hoping for at least 1,500+.
Yeah but most up north live in council houses and pay peanuts compared to hideous amounts of rents here and very few council propertiesProblem is tho wages are suppressed too, therefore it balances out, that's if you get a job up north, the real reason so many northern clubs are well represented nationwide is pure and simple, the same applies to the Scots......they migrate south for work, settle and hey presto...
Fwiw Albion vs Newcastle in 1990/91 attracted around 10000 at the Goldstone and 14000 at St James Park..........both were league games in this division..
Did he say " 1400 For Burton Albion is shit" ?Possibly one of the funniest tweets I've seen here (from an Arsenal 'fan' slating our support:
