I guess he is the “as good as, or better than” Baleba replacement - after Baleba joins the big money line of Caicedo / Bissouma sales in the summer.
This is Baleba’s breakthrough season; he wasn’t on the radar last year. In the past, we’ve generally managed to get a subsequent season out of our players before letting them go for big-money sales. Hopefully that’ll be the case again.

If we squeaked into Europe I'd love him to stay another season and have a season in Europe with him. He's an absolute team changer, never mind game changer. Then he can be off to Real Madrid at 23/24.

Except perhaps at no 10 - O Riley finding minutes few and far between at the moment
Not sure he was intended to play as a 10. More likely he was supposed to fight for the role Ayari surprisingly managed to make his own.
As things have developed, I don't think O'Riley will be with us next season.

Not worthy of a new thread, but I found it interesting (but understandable) when the commentator on MOTD mentioned that Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is on the Real Madrid shortlist to replace Ancelotti.
