As I recall, Die Harder was sadly lacking in the Gruber-factor. Of the Gruber-films, I reckon Rickman edges ahead of Irons.

You can't really beat DH1 can you?
DH2 was a bit more bloody, less fun, nudging up towards an 18 cert.
DH3 had a nice buddy act going on with Samuel L Jackson.
