Roz was going to come along and take her usual quota of excellent pictures, but unfortunately, she was rushed into hospital to have her appendix removed.

There were a few shots taken of the presentation and the golf prizes and I’ll see if I can sort a couple out and upload them this weekend.

I definitely failed you on the picture front this year, WG. And yes, there are a few things I'd have liked to have changed about the day. Starting with the dangerously high temperature, diverticulitis and the perforating appendix and concluding with the alarmingly HUGE operation that I'm very slowly recovering from, right now!

None of the above is important though. What really matters is the cause and it sounds as if this was the best ever REMF Golf Day so congratulations to everyone who organised the event and took part in it.

Well....I can offer you the ultrasound shots of my perforating appendix in a week or so but can provide absolutely buggerall record of the REMF Golf Day. What will being rather tied up trying to stave off the peritonitis at the time everyone else was teeing off!

What matters Roz is that you get yourself better. We can raise funds any day.

Without any shadow of a doubt, it was the best REMF golf day we've ever had and the profit, which should be posted over the weekend, will show this. What also made it the best day, however, was the number of golfers we had out, the amount they spent on the raffle, the best raffle prize list we've ever had and the fact that every one of the golfers wants to come back next year.

Should be interesting if we have to limit the numbers.

Gonna work on it but hope to play next year if it's not early June

Game needs a lot of work though :lolol:

What about a pre-qualifying tournament Tony :D - given some of those high scores this year, it would give you a chance to "adjust" some of those bandit handicaps !!

That’s a good idea, but it wouldn’t always work. Jim, the guy that won the individual trophy, is a genuine 27/28 handicapper. I know this because he plays in the Golf Society that I organise.

On that subject, if anyone would like to ‘guest’ at our next golf day, pm me. We’re playing at one of the best courses in Sussex, Sweetwoods Park, next Friday, 4th July. Format is
Arrive by 8.15 for coffee and bacon rolls, 9 holes Texas Scramble format, (if you don’t know it, don’t worry, it’s easy to pick up and you play as a team), ploughman’s for lunch, 18 holes Stableford, bangers and mash and onion gravy, followed by presentation of prizes. So, 27 holes, breakfast, lunch, dinner and prizes, all for £59. The meeting after that is 5th September
