Unfortunately I never went there! My first ever live football game was in the year 2000. Really feel like I've missed out. I'll never know what it was really like [emoji24]

First game was the Steve Foster testimonial (I believe) against Spurs

First proper game was the fans United game, went to the rest of the home games that season

First ever game was December 1967 vs QPR. A young debutant called John Templeman just about marked Rodney Marsh out of the game.

Yup.

My first match was a midweek thrashing of the mighty Wolves 3-0, the start of a 30+ year relationship (so far).

First Goldstone game was in 69/70. As a (then) 11 year old East Londoner I spent many a summer holiday with my uncles and aunts in Hove, always at the start of the football season. When in London, I'd often go to watch Arsenal (my late dad's team), Spurs (my brother's) and Orient (my schoolmates and I lived nearer there). But when I first saw the Albion I was hooked, remained obsessed with them ever since and that was the start of a wonderful 47 year (so far) relationship! Took my son to his first Goldstone game when he was 8 (he's now 28) and we're both Amex STHs now. The Goldstone always invokes a mix of happy memories, during our mid-70s hey days, and sad ones, when we were eventually forced out. I am tremendously proud to be part of a club that's overcome huge challenges from which we have emerged with our beautiful new Amex, which I view in awe every time I attend a match there, all made possible by the largesse of our generous chairman who's also an avid fan. We've come a long way since the Goldstone days and the journey's still far from over! Great club, great times.

My dad took me and my brother 1965-66 season aged 9 (could be 1964) and we had a 'seat' on the chicken run wall by the north corner flag and every time the game was on the telly we used to wave our arms like crazy when there was a corner. In our teens we left dad in the chicken run and moved to the North Stand 1969-70 and one pre-season friendly against Saints wasn't so friendly, that was par for the course, part of football life. Many good memories of the North Stand and in later life me and my brother moved to the South Stand around 1982 for a couple of years. Then it was to the South West terrace and finally back to where all started in the Chicken Run to stand with my dad in his final years.

1955 North East corner, on the front barrier under the floodlight pylon.

Bristol Rovers in August 1960, the year before floodlights were installed, stood on a crate behind the perimeter wall on the half way line (East Terrace).

6-1 to the Shrimps I think; Adrian Thorne scored at least three, Bill "Hurry" Curry also netted. My dad bought me a lemonade and a packet of crisps at the Exchange in Livingstone Road (where we lived) after the game; had to stay outside on the pavement mind. I don't think the tight bug*er ever bought me another drink apart from at my MSc graduation in 1981.

I was a regular at the Goldstone for just 3 short seasons between 83 and 86, then I met my future ex wife and eventually moved to Devon so I couldn't go as much as I would have liked after that. Only 3 years but it feels like much more than that and by far the best 3 years of my life, still loads of clear and fantastic memories of that place and still miss the Goldstone so much. First game, Pompey October '83. Last game, Swindon in the League Cup around '87. Can't believe I didn't get another chance to go there again after that, I continued to watch them away though and still do, only been to the Amex twice.

Odd random memory. Went to a Boxing Day game v Portsmouth and for the only time sat in the South Stand very near touchline. When the players came out they threw boxes of chocolates into the crowd and a poodle hair Alan Biley (then with Pompey) managed to launch a box of Milk Tray into my friends eager hands!

My dad took me when I was about 12. Seem to recall it was v Northampton and ended in a draw, but can't seem to locate it on our historical results. So maybe it was against someone else. I know Fred Binney scored.
Anyhow, started going regularly in the North Stand in 1976.
