Read in the paper today...(OK,a pinch of salt) that Huddersfield Town have lost £5m...even after selling Jordan Rhodes for £8m....just how many clubs in the championship are breaking even or making a profit?

Does make the early business plan for what is now The Amex look more than a little optimistic where it was believed we would only need gates of 12,000 to cover the mortgage, players and staff's wages. It looks impossible to run a competitive Championship club these days without incurring massive debts, even on our gates and strict wages policy.

I do think we need to bear in mind that we haven't yet fully benefited from two big income streams:

1. Shirt sponsor
2. Stadium naming rights.

Both of these could rake in bigger money now Mr Barber is on the case. If rumours are correct B&H jobs got the deal for not a lot, and amex money is going straight to AITC.

Not making a profit, or even making a loss, is pretty commonplace in business. After all, look at Starbucks and many other big name firms who somehow never show a profit (to the taxman).
