Or was there a half-decent atmosphere at Withdean today? More of the same please - even it if was because of the crap referee and the NSC singers in North Stand!

:bounce:

Atmosphere was excellent. Being in the family stand with my kids and having been to loads of different grounds around the country I can tell you there is only one thing missing between us and the loudest fans in the land and thats anthem leadership.

If I could be in the thick of wherever the singers are I'd be happy to join in but stuck in the family stand I reskon all it needs is a gutsy intro from somewhere to our left and the whole stand is waiting to bust its f*****g lungs to sing.

So please would some bunch of heroes in the South Stand take the lead and it could be like today at every home game with or without Dermot C**thead.

What were the Mackems booing as the teams went off at half-time? Not their own team I'd have thought, cos they struck me as being better than that. But they were certainly booing something.

Yeh, its was there own team i think. Sitting right next to their supporters, you could see they were really laying into them. lol. Yet when they came back out they were quite supportive. Weird

They were booing one of there players (Stewart I think) who when walking off was gesturing to the fans suggesting that they were too quiet and was almost behaving as though it was their fault Sunderland were losing.

Stewart was a bloody moaner all game.

Once uopn a time in Division 3, we had to get some Premiership refs to Withdean because the ones were had were 'intimidated' by our atmosphere. (I'm not making this up...) However, as with most games at Withdean, the atmosphere only gets going by the hatred and bile spat at the (usually incompetent) ref of the day.

So we had a situation where they're blaming us for an intimidating atmosphere, and we're blaming them for creating it... :D

And today was a hark back to those good old days.

On NSC for over two decades...
I'll happily take credit for starting the "Come on Brighton" chant with ten minutes to go. I was also guilty of doing a "We are Brighton" solo too!!

(yes I was the sole cause of atmosphere in C Block ;) )

Not too bad again today. Maybe because Millwall fans were a bit larier than most. And one kid in the North Stand, singing throughout at the top of his voice lol.
Well played (just) and a good 3 points! Next up Wigan to come to the Fortress!

Wigan? They can't even beat The Gills. A team who couldn't take a point off us. Bring them on!

I thought the atmosphere was crap today. Pisses me off how everyone suddenly finds their voice after we've scored :(

Well, when i say not bad i mean better than the usual silence. D block for example was getting stuck in rather more. But, you're right, as soon as we score everyone suddenly remembers the words. Stupid

seems the case with most clubs these days at home. i always find the 'you're supposed to be at home' chant a funny one cos it is afterall the away fans who have made a day out of the game travelling/drinking on the way etc and visiting a different ground so naturally will be more up for it than the home fans.

It was cold, wet, miserable - and the football was uninspiring. May have had something to do with it.
