Rushden and Diamonds. In the sports section, think the headline had something to do with 'souvinir'.

Ignore the fact that I put Rushden only had mid table medicracy to look forward to, I was tired and read the table wrong.

That wasnt how it was spelt in the paper. I have jsut got in from flying back from Portugal and am tired.

How long did it take you?

Was it cold up in the sky?

How tired are you?

Do your arms hurt now?

I'm trying to wrack my brains on behalf of Richie to see if any great journalists of our time started out life on the West Sussex County Times.

It's a mixed bag, to be honest.

The Sky reporter who topped himself after his Middle East war reports were found to contain elements of fabrication a la Damian Day. :nono:

There is of course the current sports editor of the Argus. :)

And apparently Anthony Andrews, the foppish actor famous from Brideshead Revisted. :lolol: :lolol:

I reckon Richie could beat that lot. Maybe he already has with One F in Falmer

I dunno, London Irish. Some of us are still waiting for world-class journalistic fame of the type you've discovered, despite an occasional connection to that esteemed provinciaI journal. Had it not been that a shed looked likely to collapse in Cowfold, my last contribution might have got headlined. As it was, I was damned nearly relegated to the NIBS.

Thus proving that on very many occasions in a provincial hack's career, life does, indeed, imitate art.

At least you can remember a contribution to that esteemed provincial journal. f***ing one long nightmare here that I've repressed and blanked out!

Judging by people's reaction to most things I have posted on here I doubt very much I will be making any headway in the world of journalism.

Bolix to that. All you need is persistence and a bit of get-up-and-go. Don't ever listen to what other people say, just believe in yourself.

Well I think they want me to start reviewing Brighton games on a regular basis so could be quite good.

That means you will have to start going to games!

If you are lucky they will pay for you.
