[Football] Did anyone else see Pickford flick a double V sign at the north stand when the final whistle was blown?..

Whilst I don't agree with a two fingered salute at opposition fans, there is something unfathomable about supporters giving grief to a player online and during a match then complaining that they get the slightest of reactions to it.

It's a bit like the school bully running to teacher after being hit back. 'Miss, he punched me' 'Why ?' '...because I smashed a chair over his head. He should be expelled'
Disagree with your analogy he’s a professional footballer with an extremely high profile being England’s number 1 keeper. Whilst I agree he was given plenty during the game it’s nothing he hasn’t experienced hundreds of times before. The swearing to the north stand was unnecessary and hugely unprofessional notwithstanding the fact that he’s also meant to be a role model and that’s clearly not role model behaviour.

Saw it. Don’t care. If it was our guy we’d be championing his shithousery.
Pretty much how I feel about it. What's good for the goose.

All my thoughts are is this bizarre fixture arrangement with Everton. 'You play rubbish at your place and ship us loads of goals. We'll not score at our place and, if you can, the match is yours'

I'm not disagreeing that he shouldn't do it. But there seems to be an imbalance in standards. Are football fans not role models to someone or other ? Youngsters in the crowd are not immune to toxic chanting and berating. If we are holding Pickford to a standard then should we not extend that to anyone involved in the football experience ? Would such hypocrisy not be counter productive in upholding values ?

I do think that if I was youngster and saw it happening my greatest puzzlement would be how the instigators had suddenly become victims.

I find his constant shouting at defenders during England games very strange, but then keepers are a strange bunch.

To be honest, his punting of the ball over the entire England team into Row Z just after we'd equalised in the Euro final and were exerting a bit of pressure on Spain for the first time in the game still annoys me more than the possibility that he flicked the Vs at our fans the end of the game today.

As a foreigner in these lands, I must admit the "punting of the ball" was one of the highlights of the tournament, if not the entire year for me 😉

He knew exactly what he was doing all game with the time wasting.

Plenty of fake chats with Tarkowski to delay goal kicks pretending they were talking tactics.

Making out that his players weren’t in the place he wanted so having to reset over and over.

Got one yellow for it but carried on.

Would love to see a ref have the bottle to give a second yellow.
Should be a simple timing thing from the fourth official: say, goal kicks, corners, free kicks, throw ins must be taken within 15 secs of ball going out of play (or whistle for free kick).
Measure it, and use the rule.

I get really pissed of with the goal kicks. Set up playing it short, then change mind so wait whilst CBs amble up the pitch. Once you've decided or shown you've decided, that should be it.

How stupid are the refs to fall for the tricks every f***ing game we play them. Substitution - walks 30 yards up the pitch - ref oblivious - absolutely thick as shit these refs.

Is suspect is more along the lines of something that's crept into the game over several years and there is still nothing specific within the laws to deal with it, other than unsportsmanly conduct (I am no.expert on the laws of the game so stand to be corrected).

But agree that something needs to be and should be done to address it.
