Just wondering if anybody bought any clobber from the rather eccentric guy who had a shop at the top of Church St. in Brighton

He was mentioned in one of those Cheeky Guide to Brighton type publications

I saw him the other day working the till at a Co-Op Supermarket

Friendly bloke

Yes, I bought some cracking clothes from there. I think he wanted his son (who went to Brighton College) to take over the business, but he went to Uni and never looked back.

It was a real shame to see it close down. I had wondered what he was up to nowadays. Definitely a bit of a Brighton Institution.

In the punk era, I bought several old clothes from that shop.

Essential shopping

When me kids were little we were walking past D.Rosen one Saturday. Aforesaid Rosen was outside the shop, faffing around with a black shiny disc type thing. Obviously this caught me kids interest and we stopped to take a look.

'Hello little boy, would you like to see my top hat pop up?' he cackled scarily at my son

I think it was North Street before we stopped running

Sausage was a regular.

Sausage particularly recalls the purchase of a fantastic 'Ian McCulloch' coat that was the envy of other scene sausages.
