I didn't get in on Saturday as there was a huge queue and 250 people were already in there, even though I was there at 1pm. However, I asked the steward on the door and he said kids are allowed in.

The huge queue moved really quickly. I only waited for 5-10 minutes at the most around 1:30. Giving it some thought though, last week might have been the exception rather than the rule: with all the opening game pre-match activities, a lot of folk might have been moving into the ground around 1:30. On a normal league game the move from Dick's -> ground might not really happen in any volume until 2:30ish.

Blimey I used to go down the Bucaneer on a Sunday to see them back in the late 70's.

Well, apart from here the only publicity will be a poster in Dick's Bar I'll put up when i collect the PA and bring it tomorrow:
'Piranhas - from the Alhambra to the Amex!'

The kids issue is made less of an issue by the fact that at its 250 capacity there is LOADS and LOADS of space in the bar, meaning that there shouldn't be kids caught up in a bar crush and indeed the area by the mosaic, even at capacity, is relatively empty allowing families to look at it without any problems. Nevertheless i shall seek clarification.

Agreed John. This is the bar at capacity on Saturday pre-match.

A compromise Kids ok pre-match, adults only after match would seem quite a common sense approach.

Just far enough away from LDC
That's a sensible compromise - assuming of course the legal problems can be overcome?

I used to see them play the Alhambra on a Sunday night in the late 70s / early 80s.

Blimey - they must be getting on a bit :)

If that's 250 you could get a thousand in there.

I saw a family with an under-age kid (about 9-10) refused entry but in the bar there were a number of kids looking about 14-15. I guess the doormen weren't asking for ID but just turned away the obvious ones.

Post-match on Saturday, there was a steward who was asking to see ID - from people who, when I was waiting to go in, had it. Just like a regular venue, then.

Sadly, it's DECADES since anyone asked me for ID.
