Just wandering if there has been any update re GD. Supposidly we were hoping to sort out a deal with stockports administators on monday....

But since then (obviously other things have happened with TB) it has gone quiet on this front...(not complaining as it has been an exciting week)

Anyone heard anything?

I didn't think that the transfer window opens until 1 July. Can we do a deal before then?

A deal can't go through until then, but it is not uncommon at this time of year for clubs to agree, and announce, deals in principle.

You can transfer a player at any time of the year and sign them on and pay for them.

Its just the transfer will not be processed until the window opens, basically meaning they cannot play for the club until the window opens, but there is nothing stopping any club signing players anytime.

I'm sure this has been answered in another thread so apologies if so... But does anyone know who will be responsible for negotiation over players with other managers/chairmen. This seems to be a role that DK undertook after the manager had identified the players he wanted. With Bloom out of the country a fair bit and saying that he will not be involved day to day, who, for instance, is dealing with Stockport now on the Dicker situation and the other clubs where we are targeting players? Anyone know?

Bloom has said that he plans to take a low profile role, leaving the running of the clup to Martin Perry, Ken Brown and Russell Slade...

From the Times:

"I will spend time in Australia, especially in the winter, but being chairman is not necessarily a full-time job. It’s not my job to run the club, it’s my job to oversee it. We have a chief executive, a secretary, a manger, a press officer. The club will not need me on a day-to-day basis, but I’m always at the end of the phone."

Dean White will be much more hands on in this respect over the Summer - he alluded to it in the podcast.
