You wouldn't let a 70+ year old fly an airliner or drive a train, there's a reason the retirement age is 65 and the way the club's being run shows why.

As I have said before, Dick misses Martin Perry. An old man driving a train is just about okay if you have a very compentant train driver standing next to him. With Perry permanently on Falmer work Knight lost the man who made him sane. Sadly without him he is a lost old tired man.

The only positive thing about our present dire position is that the Board will stand down, this seems possible now that the hopes of getting college funds to help pay for Falmer have been dashed

Worthing
I think our problems in the last 4 or 5 years have been caused by divisions at board level. Sadly I don't think there is a group of millionaires waiting in the wings to replace them.

the tragedy of this situation is two fold:

1. A person who led a consortium to get us back to Brighton and has delivered us a stadium in waiting has proved this season to be human and is now starting to be questioned as a leader and some say he should take the oppertunity to retire gracefully.

2. A manager who was in the eyes of many the best one we have had returns to the club and proves that he was not the manager we thought he was. People then really turned on him and now his legacy is tarnished.

That is the real issue.

I have a feeling that come then new season, we could see a new board as well as a new team

Agree with that DAVE but you appear to have missed out the Blooms who are allegedely those responsible for funding all of our recent puchases, although I dont go along with that opinion. It was their lack of decision making that brought about the final straws of this season. It is alleged that they were the reason that Adams and the club parted company. Had they had the balls to say it at Christmas , before the January deadline perhaps things wouldnt have got so bad. I m not sure if it is to their credit that DK favoured choice was appointed manager or again due to their indecision that they didnt get Pardew as they allegedly wanted. Whatever it is I think that Russel Slade will keep us up, just about.

Cannot be arsed to read all the threads, and whose fault it was tonight.

Not the players.............we got what Dick Knight wanted.

That is where you are wrong. IT IS THE PLAYERS and they bloody well know it. They have underachieved - not the management and nothing to do with the board.

Fozzie - hold your hand up. You have been a bloody poor captain, and the players have followed your example. The lot of you have made an excellent manager call it a day, and the way you are all going another one will be on the scrap heat by the end of the season.

How lovely it is to sit on the fence. Adams was okay until (according to this armchair - almost made it as a league - manager) he made the decision of bringing on a sub before he should have done, and by doing so alerted the opposition's manager of our game plan for the second half. He was fine until that moment. Do us a favour old man, you would never had made it as a school team manager - so don't come on here playing the expert.

(By the way Spellcheck threw up many errors to match your management ability.)

Vankleek Hill, actually....
The board of directors make decisions regarding the club. It just so happens that Dick Knight is the spokesperson for the board. It's not just his decision. It's collective as in shared responsibility. People on here are knocking Dick Knight as if it's his fault. Bollocks is it. That's why you have a board of directors.

That is where you have got it all wrong. I was and still am a believer that Adams was the right choice and would have proved to have been so if he had been left in charge for the rest of the season. Yes I think in my own personal opinion, that he made a mistake in the game against Luton by bringing on Elphick when he did so near to half time. That didnt however make hima bad manager just a manager who had made a bad decision. It was stated on here by many, supposedly in the know, that DK had been his sole defender to keep his job for ages. My whole point is that had the Blooms, who apparently wanted him, out stuck by their guns and done the job at Christmas, not that I would have agreed with them but would have understood their actions, then we may not have been in this dire position so late in the season. Having said that it must be said that Slade has brought abouta refreshing air in the media about the club in the past few days.

By the way in what was in my younger days just referred to as amatuer football I have been very succesful at managing and in so doing beat a 1966 world cup winner on a coaching course, who then had a reasonable succesful career as a manger in top flight football and also I turned down a job that a future England manager took as his first job as a manager. So I have a little knowledge of football, granted a long time ago and it has changed somewhat physically and possibly tactically but the basic ideas havent

Absolute nonsense. Forster is one of the few players to come out of this season with any credit IMO. He's a model pro and if more of our players followed his example we wouldn't be in the mess we're in. That's not to say that Adams has f***ed things up too though, because he has.

What a load of utter shite. It's the players who have underperformed. We spent more money both this January and last than any other club in the division.

As I have said before, the fuckwits calling for the board to go have NO idea how or who someone is going to pay them off the £15million they are owed by the club.

We're shit on the park due to a combination of poor signings, poor form, injuries and poor discipline on the park.

No reflection on your extremely sexy actual personality, but is there any chance you could do some more Irish impersonations?

Thanks in advance,

Actually I wouldn't call that 'positive' at all, seeing that the current board (or more accurately the Blooms) are constantly pumping in money to fund transfers and cover the losses we make. If they stood down where would the money come from?

(Although you could argue that they are simply paying to correct their own mistakes and we wouldn't need so much if they weren't so incompetent.)

sorry granny, that is crap

Dick and the board have created this situation by sacking Wilkins and forcing Chapman out. That is the real issue.

And Dean and Ian going is the reason we are in this mess your don't sack a manger(any Manager) that gets you to 7th and lose a defensive coach (which we have obviously cleary missed by goals conceded) and not expect to be in this mess

The buck stops with Knight - he MUST go he IS killing this club!!!
