The Knight/Bloom saga has really only just begun. One of Knight's relatives who I know through professional dealings has spoken to me of a power struggle within the boardroom and that there is a bigger rift developing than can not be kept under wraps. I truly hope this doesn't cause damage to the managerial situation, the signing of new contracts for players or to control of the club. After the events of yesterday you would normally expect the chairman, especially Dick Knight's ego, to be singing the praises of the manager for what he has achieved. The quiet is really deafening.

I'm a real fan of Bloom and I would much prefer him to control this club when Knight eventually goes and if anyone else decides to come in, Bloom to oversee them.

Well he can't. Don't the rules prohibit ANY football club being controlled by people with controlling interests in the gambling business?

Knight will prob leave the season after we get falmer anyway. Bloom may be a good successor. Unless he has no more money

in addition to being a PA announcer, he is (allegedly) a mouth piece/puppet for DK. If the Blooms take over I would expect there to be a clearout of the "village fete committee of volunteers" and be replaced with professional business people as we get ready for Falmer.

Unfortunately it's never quite as simple as that.

Mike Ashley is an incredibly successful businessman and look at the state of Newcastle over the last few years.

I get a little bit tired of hearing clubs are only in trouble because they don't run themselves like other companies. It's generally businessman who tend to f*ck clubs up.

Not meaning to be rude, and I know that you are only passing on what you were told. But we know who Insider is, but have no idea who you mystery man is.

Insider is the club's press officer. This does not necessarily mean that he is telling the truth, or that he knows all the facts.

I think you are wrong in that assumption. He may not know all the facts but I think that he could be very economical with what he says but his position would not allow him to tell us something that was blatantly untrue as he would lose all credibility when the truth comes out for future issues. I wouldnt argue that he may keep quiet about certain information that he has because that is his job.

There are many things within BHAFC that we have no real right to know about unless we own a share in the club.

Just live with it as the Blooms in my opinion have kept us solvent and invested on the playing side.

Oh I'm sorry, Sir Alex Ferguson has never managed a football team. He just likes to throw away money buying horses as a hobby. His life went shit creek all because he owns horses he enters in to races, its nothing to do with because he's a Scot and manages Manchester United.

I agree. I like Bloom because the club is his heart. I mean who exactly wants Vladimir Romanov owning their football club, imagine that, a big stinking businessman controlling your business.

A lot of managers, players and even directors own race horses, in fact one of the biggest benefactors to BHA does, but that is not their prime business from which they obtain the majority of their income, it is usually a hobby

slightly confused by this post, are you suggesting Knight is pro or anti Slade? seems to me that if he is pro he would have indeed sung the praises and reminded everyone who (publically as chairman) brought him. so does this silence suggests he is anti slade? but when the answer is asked direct he does indeed seem to be pro???

Oh I'm sorry, Sir Alex Ferguson ...
is a manager and not an owner, so really hasnt any bearing. theres also a difference between owning a horse, having a punt and being a professional gambler or running a gambling business. Lord B is i suspect correct, directors/owners of football clubs have to be "fit and proper" and people making money from gambling isnt going to match the criteria for fairly obvious reasons.

I think Slade should get the job but i worry that he won't - the silence from the board is very deafening - perhaps there are problems in the boardroom that need to be sorted before the managers job ??

If Tony Bloom is keeping the club going with his money then this puts the chairman in a very tight corner.

Soooooooooo...... Bloom might want to take control, become chairman. He knows the only thing standing in his way is the fans inherent support for Dick Knight as the 'saviour' of our club. So, he needs to knock Knight's standing by, say, forcing out the extremely popular manager that kept us up and replacing with an extremely unpopular former premiership midfielder?

Interesting theory with all kinds of connotations..........

The name Bloom fills me with dread in regard to the Albion as I still don't understand how Ray Bloom stood by as a director and watched the club being dismantled and as far as I'm aware did nothing about it. Now he;s back on the board and it seems another Bloom, possibly wants to use the club as his plaything. I accept I'm biased and maybe wrong, just a gut feeling but unfortunately he who pays the piper...
