Don't panic. Dick, Tony Bloom and all the board are aware of the feeling of the supporters about Russell. The Dennis Wise rumour is a total non-starter, which has no substance whatsoever.

Good, but it's worth saying again.

Time to do the right thing and offer the man a contract.

Not a knee-jerk reaction on my (or other peoples behalf) I think.

The "best man manager...." comments should be ringing round the ears of the board.

Not heard that since Coppell was here. To turn that team around was a remarkable achievement. I was convinced we were dead and buried.

Would also like to see Forster given the encouragement to think about a future back room role with the club too. I probably wasn't the only one who saw the encouragement he was giving from the sideines yesterday.

ive never understood why anyone gave the Wise rumour and credibility, would be such a big step back from his perspective.

FFS we have just got rid of one poison dwarf so we really should not think of employing another.

Let's hope a decision is made on the new manager before we are asked to renew our Season Tickets.

I hope they also realise that getting rid of a manager like Wilkins was not only proven to be wrong but was also very wrong in treating any employee after 20years service and it was a disgrace and i hope they felt the heat as they deserved it IMO.

Plenty of people were more than happy at this time last year for us to replace a proper football manager with a "name".

I think most folk were shocked by the demise of Wilkins and the appointment of Adams. A few in the know seemed to understand and then a lot of supporters jumped on the Adams bandwagon because of his history with us. But many of us queried the appointment . Let's hope the board do not make the same mistake twice. Mr Slade is surely worth another 12 months as our manager as was Wilkins last year. To bring in another "big name" would be a disaster.

FFS, Same old broken record... Shut it, Popeye!

Seriously, would you rather have Wilkins back now? Really? D'you think he could have achieved what Slade has managed? Did DW ever achieve such a rapport, to absolute acclaim and admiration from the fans?

We'll never know why Wilkins left the club - nor should any of us feel we have some entitlement to know. Company disciplinary matters are confidential, and rightly so. Wilkins was clearly a pretty good coach, but maybe that was it. It's notable that, after all this time, no other club has chosen to take a punt on him as a manager.

That's what i thought initially, but technically he is as he is the PA announcer, so a member of the match day staff (as i am:glare:).

Also by saying this if gives him supposedly more credibility as a "source".

I have always had the impression Knight is a shrewd business man. even when his decisions get doubted they are more often than not turn out good ones and always acts with the right intentions.

Tony bloom has gained respect through splashing some much needed cash (And to a degree rightly so) but we should be wary as I would expect he wants to make that money back. Wise may be seen as a crowd puller as a profit maker. Lets hope this is wrong and the rumors are unfounded. Business men with such power and importance (and lets be fair massive ego's) will always disagree and argue. Lets hope that is the most that happened

I'm a real fan of Bloom and I would much prefer him to control this club when Knight eventually goes and if anyone else decides to come in, Bloom to oversee them.

in addition to being a PA announcer, he is (allegedly) a mouth piece/puppet for DK. If the Blooms take over I would expect there to be a clearout of the "village fete committee of volunteers" and be replaced with professional business people as we get ready for Falmer.

The stupid thing about all this season is I would guess 99% of us looked at the players Micky bought in (not the loan shower), coupled with his past record and though we could beat most teams in the league. For what ever reason Micky could not get the players performing yet Russell took Micky's team and turned them into the winners we all thought they would be at the start of the season.

Tongue in cheek here but should we go up next season will people be saying its because Russell inherited a winning team of Micky's and we didnt give him enough time :)
