Slightly daft of the person to post a video without actually knowing the full context behind it. But that's generally how social media works, sadly. Hopefully a lesson for that guy.
Yes, and hopefully a lesson for a lot of people on this thread who were more than happy to blame the club.
I hope someone at the club tells him all is forgiven.
Dick Knight

From what I have seen here and on social media, Barber is being blamed for this in a lot of places. But if it is a decision which has come from the top, then it is more likely to be Bloom, no?

The animosity between the two is not a secret. Bloom holds a grudge, as Benham/Poyet will tell you. Easy way to embarrass someone you don't like, banning them from being life president for 10 games

I will take myself off to church on Sunday to repent for this blasphemy

Will probably learn f*** all from it and just brag about getting Dick Knight banned.

I did a semi-similar thing in my YOOF. Created a false rumour that Geert den Ouden wanted to sign for GAIS, and their director of football spent days chasing him. Then the truth came out in the papers, some 18-year-old bastard had tricked the club and they were very, very angry. I sent an email and apologised but God knows I bragged about making a club chase shadows for days when they were desperate for a striker. The attention was not a negative thing for my 18-year-old self... I learnt very little from it.

... would probably do it again.

Blaming TB obviously is (and should generally be) taboo, so mr Barbatron will have to take most of the shit. He's bald and from London (?). 50/50 he is evil, so easy target.

But equally obvious... the club won't publicly ban the life president of the club without TB approving it.

edit; didn't see the apology from the young man. Oh well.

So have the club banned him or is it self imposed?
"In line with the club’s zero tolerance policy for any kind of abusive behaviour, I have therefore accepted that I should step aside from my role as honorary life president for the next ten matches. I will not be attending any games or representing the club in any capacity in this period."

I think the word "accepted" suggests it wasn't his idea.

I tend to agree. The tweet sent by “joppy” said it appeared to be self imposed.

Indeed, there's clearly been a discussion. Perhaps the club could've taken the line that it had pretty much all blown over and been forgotten about. Instead it was raked up again, and embarrassment ensued along with a pretty draconian result, given how minor the incident actually was.

You give credence the ramblings of that egotistical twonk? ( funnily enough not the Swedish one for a change)
No, but being a reason why this storm blew in the first place I’d expect him to get his facts right at the very least.

I'd like to see some sort of collective letter written to the club to voice disapproval. Perhaps someone on the FAB can advise on the best process for doing so? Are any of the reps on NSC?

Why not actually write a good old fashioned letter, or even an email to the club seeing if this can help get DK some kind of parole scenario?

Self imposed ban from what I read and insufficient evidence to suggest it wasn’t self imposed, sure people have theories but only DK will know for sure
