I'm not sure the 12 tablets a year Mrs WS was getting would make her an addict. The stupid thing is that all refusal really does is make people look at other avenues to get it .... now that is dangerous.

When working in mental health we noticed couple of years ago that GPs have been given much stricter directive re diazepam. Some GPs will simply refuse to prescribe it now, it'll depend on your particular GP. It can be a horrible drug and it was previously given out willy nilly (static dose twice a day, wtf) so it's a good thing it's much more restricted now imo. You should still be able to get it at small dose for a very short period though.
I have. Personally happy to discuss the morals and legality of prescription drugs in an adult manner but this thread will get binned and people issued with infractions if another link appears.

Thankfully I took the details before deletion. I will say one thing though - my work internet filters didn't highlight the site as either illegal or dodgy.
I posted that in a well meaning nature as a possible alternative.
I’ve never understood those reports of people jumping off high buildings and killing them selves because they were high on drugs and thought they could fly...........
If you really thought you could fly you wouldn’t have bothered climbing up there or even bothering with steps...........

I’ll accept that maybe you thought you could glide but drugs are getting a bad name of late.
Because I missed the other post report but saw the flurry of other ones pointing out, correctly, that it's illegal to flog Class Cs without a prescription.
He’s annoyed because he sent me a snidey PM asking for an apology as obviously the mods were OK with what he did. And now he looks a bit stupid.
FWIW I think it was a genuine mistake as he didn’t realise selling prescribed drugs without a prescription was illegal
Hopefully the OP can find a solution with a doctor, I’ve had a family member with the same thing so I know how difficult travel can be without it.

Speaking as a moderator I had to do what I did and I've let [MENTION=6886]Bozza[/MENTION] know that is what I did. The only reason for delay is that we are not on NSC 24/7 as some seem to think.
Speaking personally and this is in no way the opinion of NSC as a site I think the law is an a**e and I wish [MENTION=1365]Westdene Seagull[/MENTION] and his Mrs well.

Been prescribed Diazepam for acute back spasm. Only time I have called doctors out as I could not move. Agony. Its a great muscle relaxant. Advised a double dose just before bedtime. Wow - all I can really remember was floating. Woke up the following day, and my back was almost (not quite, but almost) normal. It is recognised as addictive, but I would have taken Concentrated Sulphuric Acid that day if prescribed...

Had exactly the same thing about ten years ago. Back spasm every ten mins, totally paralysing me. Got an emergency prescription faxed to Ashtons and dropped off by a mate.
Spent an evening floating and making up episodes of Alan Partridge in my head and then a 13 hour sleep. Woke up almost back to normal, albeit being very careful with my back.
Hope the OP can sort some out, would be a shame to be grounded for the sake of a couple of tablets.

Being lazy and cant be arsed to read through, i get them prescribed for flying once or twice a year, available from your g.p and on NHS and as the plane straightens i have a g and t

About 15 years ago I had severe upper back/neck pain. Not spinal, but the Scapulae and Trapezius muscles had locked up from too much time spent working at a computer day after day. Really unpleasant discomfort and sharp pain, paracetamol or codeine or ibuprofen were all hopeless.
My Mile Oak GP said that this was natural, those muscles had gone into spasm, as a protective response to protect the underlying skeleton. “Take one of these, to relax the spasm”. It worked, a miracle cure and its effect lasted. I assume it was a tranquilliser.
