Columbo for me, followed by Monk.
If you not seen Monk, same as Columbo where you know who the killer is but its how he catches them. A former dectetive, now an advisor who suffers from germophobia to the San Franciso police dept. has a personal nurse as his helper.

This thread is ridiculous .

How is it even a question when two of these 'so-called' shows LITERALLY do not star The Late Great Barry Van Dyke...?

Some great choices there: Donald Pleasence, Ricardo Montalban & Jack Cassidy.

I have to add a couple of my own faves:

Identity Crisis (1976) starring Patrick McGoohan & Leslie Nielsen. Also featuring Paul Gleason (Clarence Beeks from Trading Places).

By Dawn's Early Light (1974) also starring Patrick McGoohan, and featuring a very young Bruno Kirby as well as his dad Bruce.

I really like the ones with Dick Van Dyke with the cameras and Leonard Nimoy with the sutures respectively.
