We now have Barnes, Lita and three injured players who play CF. If we recruit another striker they should be able to cover other positions, like wide roles. That way we increase our options up frount and in other positions. I don't see the point of getting another CF in who can't offer something different to what we've already got.
I've convinced myself plan A, home, is Ulloa up front CMS tucked in close by (where Buckley has been ineffective) with 2 attacking wingers Buckley and KLL. .
Plan B, away, Ulloa up front on his own, one attacking with a more sedentary winger, and 2 holding midfielders.
Plans C and D are for when goals have been scored and the situation needs to change accordingly.
T'is a shame we've never had the square begs in the square holes this season.
Oscar is a manager that develops a squad. The squads right through the club are changing the way they play. If you look at recent results from the younger squads they are definitely improving ( beating previously unbeaten Millwall yesterday, an example) and a bit of time is needed.
Many hours are spent studying videos of players that may be available, and more importantly will fit in with what the manager wants.
Let's suppose Blackstock is brought in on loan, we have two strikers until Jan, about the same time as Len and CMS should be fully fit and up to speed.
You never know, one of these loan players might be kept on in Jan, Barnes might be moved on, leaving Len, CMS and a.n. other.
Scoring goals is the problem, now.

What is the maximum number of loan players we can have in the match day squad?
So far we have Andrews, Ward, Conway and Lita. If we got Blackstock that could mean 5 in the squad. That must be about the limit, Shirley?

I think you're right. Orlandi was also an option to play just behind Ulloa as was shown in pre season.

We are definitely targeting proven championship players, with bags of experience at this level. While I don't necessarily think that's a bad policy. The manager and his coaching staff have either none or very little experience at managing at this level. There within lays our main problem.

I think we are trying to get Prem loans but they are not coming through - Setup? Manager? or wages? I'd go wages

Wages and the fact that many Prem Teams will only loan players if they get a guarantee that they will start games. Which is ridiculous.

Yes but I don't blame them for that, why sign them if you are not going to play them. Don't forget once they sign its unlikely they will get called back till the loan is over.

I can see their logic, but not many managers are going to accept that they MUST play a particular player.

Getting a little worrying that we are targeting lots of championship rejects that were good at this level a couple of seasons ago.
We were comfortably a better side than forest last season ... In the space of less than 6 months it feels like they are miles ahead now. It feels like a few sides have overtaken us and we are steadily going in the wrong direction.

I think Lita could end up longer term, but Blackstock I think would only be here until CMS and Ulloa are fit
