Woah, nearly jumped off the sofa when Mayer shot himself! Really didn't see that coming.

Really took a dark turn last night, I felt.

What with the General chucking his son out, after accidentally hitting his wife.

Linda being bumped off quite brutally, and then buried in the wood.

And then Mayer blowing his brains out.

Did I get the suspicion that the main character is starting to enjoy the life of a spy?

Well it's certainly gone up a notch from the 'Carry on Spying' of the past few weeks. I've enjoyed the whole thing, but people who've been put off the past 3 weeks would do well to get back in.

I had a feeling it wasn't going to end well for Linda, but that was brutal.
Mayar blowing his brains out as well, yes I jumped indeed.

Saw the whole series a while ago, the one thing that most impressed me was the main character's romantic relationships. Very tender but also deeply disturbing.

I'm also a fan of this series. Good to have something different to get in to.

Hope we see a few more jugs too.

Was wondering how the car that killed her got to the woods so quick

Not a good ending for Linda however, on discovering your boyfriend is a spy and probably going to kill you to stop you exposing him, running through a station in to the most deserted woods you can find is obviously not the way to go. Mind you, the East German tech at the time was top end stuff, being able to track down a runaway girl to a road in the woods without mobile phones is some skill.

Yes, running into lonely, deserted woods was perhaps not the best option.

Just before Mayer shot himself, I said "He's goon a shoot himself." No jumping off the sofa here.

Really good programme, great cultural history, and some humour too.

Just watched the last episode. Agree with the comments that the series has gone up a few notches on the darkness and intensity. A few twists and turns as well. This has turned from a romp into a very good thriller now.
