Does anyone remember last season sombody did a desktop background with all the fixtures on, it looked pretty shit hot so I'm sure there's a few people that used it. Is there any chance that one of you graphics bods could put this seasons fixtures on it?

there was a big thread on this about a month or so ago

the idea was bandied about and Adrie wanted to make one , but according to some the football league are getting stricter on the use of its fixtures being used without it's consent so hence no wallpaper this season :(

What a load of f***ing shit, how can you copyright a fixtures list. I'm going to get a copy of photoshop and have a go at it then. I'll take that background and put some random dates and team names on it, if they happen to be in the same order as fixtures then it will just be an amazing coincidence

There's no reason why someone can't PM the wallpaper to those that are interested. The problem, as I see it, is hosting the images on a public server available for all to see.

The FL can't police peoples wallpaper.

seriously, you can't. I've spoken to the football league and BHA about it. They have come down medieval stylee on people that have done it before.

The press officer at BHA promises that there will be official club downloads soon....

sorry, mate and yes, I agree. It's ridiculous.

I blame the gays.

i can't quite get over this. not only is a fixture list a record of PUBLIC events, it is also effectively a menu for the fl's product. surely they would want it proliferated as much as possible.

do you know buz, what he most severe punishment would be for someone who did have a bash at creating a fixtures wallpaper, and how it would be meted out?

How can it be illegal to do that! WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT! I'm sure on BBC or SKYSPORTS website it dosn't say copyright of FL! If I could be arsed to make one i'd just do it anyway!

Easiest thing I can see is just write one of the dates wrong but make sure you know which one, if it's not correct i'm sure there's even less that they can do to stop it!

Not sure TiD. Gotta go now, but have a look back at the previous fixtures thread. Tedebear (I think) posted a link to a site calling for the abolition of this petty petty rule

I presume it'd be breach of copyright, which is normally fineable

I've probably repeated what Buzzer has already done, but I spoke to Football Dataco, who deal with the copyright of the Fixture List on behalf of the Football League and the FA Premiership. I asked them the cost for permission to re-produce the Albion's fixtures on a desktop wallpaper, and - because it was for one club only - you have to approach the individual club in question for that permission.

In this instance, you need to approach Paul Camillin, but, seeing as he has already dealt with it, it does seem a tad pointless. However, if you really want to go ahead with your own design, speak to Paul anyway.

does that mean it would be paul who would be held responsible if there were to be any infringement?

According to BHA, Dataco have got their facts wrong.

Can someone please link to the previous thread on this?
