[Albion] Deserve to go down?

...a side who repeatedly cannot score goals, after 25+ chances game after game, and also repeatedly lose or draw games when restricting opponents to 1 or 2 chances....? Well, we don’t deserve to be in this league do we? It’s absolutely incredible how inept we are at finishing. Season after season.

For all those who’ll cite Liverpool result. A) they’re having their worse run of form since 1923 B) aren’t our bitterest rivals C) who for 2nd season on trot beaten us at home, without created any otherwise chances. And this time without Zaha too!

Fecking livid tonight doesn’t even begin to describe how feeling right now. And yet, it’s all so typical Albion. I curse the day I was taken to the Goldstone. Tonight’s the sort of night you feel like taking a punt on reincarnation.

Can’t bare to watch Potter explain this one. I swear I’ll punch the tele if he says “learning” one more time.
No. We don't deserve to go down.

Hope this helps [emoji106]

Foresight is better, but throwing in the towel with months of the season to go is a little sad, and quite a few on this thread seemed to do so.

Strange to suggest a club who spend no time in the bottom three deserves to go down don’t you think?

Stinking the prem out for four seasons ,looking over our shoulders again with four to play , relying on others .Sticking your head in the sand and believe everything will be ok . We have survived on the fact there are three worse teams than us for the fourth season

You think that we stank the division out this season? Genuinely speechless, I’ll give up at this point.

Relying on others :lolol:. It’s called a league season and the resulting table.

Sheffield United, WBA and Fulham knew the rules before a ball was kicked. They ended up stinking the EPL out, all dropping with games to spare.

That Tottenham 3-0 last season was the first game where we’ve got a result from a ‘Pig Six’ but also totally outplayed them. Whilst Hughton got a few wins against the big clubs, we were generally having to defend a lot and rely on good saves and blocks.

We have competed amazingly well with the ‘Pig Six’ this season, it’s been astonishing. We outplayed Liverpool twice, should have taken at least 4 points off Spurs and only succumbed to Man City after a Dunk error.

There has never been a time before where we can go into games against the ‘Pig Six’ and genuinely be confident we’ve got a chance. It’s amazing. Whilst we have to improve that final piece of the jigsaw in finishing chances and games, we have everything we need to get our highest Premier League finish next season as long as we address our finishing.

We’ve never stunk less.

Here is a link to a performance worthy of ‘stinking out the Premier League’:

Get some perspective man!

You're too kind Icy. Speechless? More like clueless. That or a troll. Or, more likely, both.

Not in my nature to be plain rude to people, I’d rather just walk away, life is too short and there is no way I’ll ever convince his ilk that they might be wrong

After months of agonising over every result involving bottom half teams and studying various permutations and scenarios, when safety was sealed with Burnley’s second goal last night it all felt like a bit of an anti-climax.

Yes it is, but this is nothing to do with hindsight. I would've posted a 'Yes' if we'd have gone down

When the thread was started, there was a LOT of football still to be played, Brighton were outside of the relegation zone and – from an objective point of view – far from deserving to go down. Asking fans to judge a team WAY before the end of the season is odd. It's like stating that a team deserves to win a cup before their quarter-final match.

Why oh why people don't more people take football one game at a time I will never know.

That's because it's been blindingly obvious for weeks now, certainly since the Leeds win. I don't quite get the mathematical certainty moment of relaxation. I've been saying since about the start of the year that the points survival total will be extremely low this year, with 30 a distinct possibility and that if we got to 32 (with our superior goal difference), I'd be extremely confident. I still stand by that. West Brom aren't very good, and Fulham can't score.
