"We have someone who has spoken to something actually involved". LOL!

Anyone with half a brain cell guessed how it was done, primarily due to the mistake - as mentioned two weeks ago.

Didn't need someone who spoke to someone to 'confirm' it.

Thanks for your welcome input, you really should get a job in TV with the technical knowledge you seem to have.

No worries. As I said, the mistake made it easy to work out.

I imagine the runner got sacked, or a big bollocking at least? Perhaps your contact can confirm that?

Why would the runner get sacked? The very slight jump was due to technical differences (frame rates) specifically related to the Sony Digibeta VCR that was being being used in the studio having problems (with its Video In TimeCode) syncing to the camera being used.

Again I was'nt aware anyone on here knew that but you seem to know more than me.

Wozza is not talking about a 'frame jump' but about the fact that one of the balls inexplicably moves from one frame to the next. And the movement is clearly not because of any technical feature/glitch but because the runner who put the numbered balls in place before Brown 'revealed' them, put them back incorrectly. The ball was, literally, in the wrong place.

You have to understand burrish that coming on here with anything even vaguely interesting is NOT ON.

I suggest setting up a poll to see who prefers Scooby Doo over Captain Cavemen would be a better way to go!!

Yep seems to be alot of children on here these days:shrug:

It was all discusssed on this thread.

And here is the ball (the right one) in a raised position, after the 'reveal'. Before the balls are revealed there is clearly a moment where this ball jumps from one position to another. As I say, not a technical feature, but because when the programme reverted to a single-camera view, the ball had been put in the wrong place by the runner.

As Bozza says, I'm talking about the ball moving. That's what gave the game away, not a frame jump.

It was all covered here, weeks ago. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Well spotted but my original post was about how they technically did it (the kit involved) not about any human errors made, but as always on here the original debate gets lost:(

Dont worry mate I've got a life and simply don't have the time to rack up a 9,000 post count with the 'in crowd' on here.

NSC can now get back to slagging our players off again

Have to respond to this one!

For starters he does'nt have his own cameraman and practically everyone in the industry works freelance, including myself.

it dosn't have to be his OWN, but im sure having gone to all the trouble DB went to i doubt he'd want the cameraman/woman (who ever it may be) to tell all.
still think your making it up.

Nope you are wrong there I'm afraid no special code of secrecy was signed, just DB's production company not having a clue how they were going to do it and having to resort to a specialised film unit to do it at the last minute.

But your thread title is "Derren Brown Lottery Trick Revealed" - like you're telling us something we didn't know. Sorry, but we did!

Any other exclusive relevations from inside TV land? Dame Edna Everage not a woman?!?

You make it sound like he conjured up this illusion on a Sunday afternoon,
Implying they came up with an idea with knowing how it was going to work ??? "and then at the last minute" resort to a specialised film unit.???

As the camera is central to the illusion this would have been the the primary consideration to the act.

We know Brown cocked up on this one but he is not stupid.
He does his preparation very well, but got let down by an assistant. nothing to do with the camera trickery.

I know its hard to believe but the world of television works like this alot!! I've spent over 10 years working in it, most of it is 'smoke and mirrors' run by increasingly untalented individuals who's technical knowledge leaves alot to be desired.
