It's not shit. If people wanted to do it, they would genuinely feel stuck. Obviously, if you're very sceptical about the whole thing it's not actually going to work because it's all down to your own mind, rather than something the hypnotist is doing. They just relax people and tell them what to do. Some will go along with it ( hence all the emphasis on it working for people who are talented, creative etc in his spiel - a lot of people would just 'want' it to work, and consequently it would).

2 minutes before it started I got up just to feel how it was getting up and something to compare it with. I wanted it to work and made myself think that I would be stuck but then just got up as normal.

the thing he did with the audience saying that having played music, 1 person would feel the need to raise their hand. At the end of the demonstration, Derren Brown showed us this guys' entry number already written down on a piece of paper.

That was extremly hard to believe!

I can't believe some of the hostility shown towards him. He doesn't claim to be a mind reader or a psychic. He's an illusionist, and the best in the business. I've always loved watching him, and these shows are just getting better and better.

Agreed. Hes simply the best at what he does.

Really focused, really wanted it to work. I believe in this sort of stuff, and followed all instructions. I willed myself to do it, made sure i stuck

I didn't.

Yes. Convincing idiots into thinking he's actually got a hint of talent.

I Went to one of his events, believe me he has talent.

As was stated by TCB, He doesn't claim to be a magician nor some rogue wizard, hes an illusionist and he is brilliant at what he does.

It's just ego. People are jealous/scared. They don't like that he can do things they can't, things they can't even understand. That's why they're always so desperate to explain how he does his tricks and why they want him to fail. Whenever he does any of his mind control things he always says that he's looking for a certain type of personality and that not everyone will succumb to it. All of the shows that I've seen involve him narrowing it down until he finds the most susceptible person. Most people don't want to think that they can be so easily controlled or manipulated by another.
