Please remind me how many First Class and/or Test Wickets they have compared to Panesar?

the panesar novelty factor has worn off - everybody knows how to play him, that much was evident by his absolutely appalling record with northamptonshire last year. you cant play cricket in the past, if you could then mushy would still be out there

id be much more confident about our chances with either rayner or beer in the side

All this squabbling about Monty, are you all overlooking it's the fact that our batting, not bowling, is f***ing disgraceful game after game?

if we hadn't have signed a player based on cult status on big money that we didn't need owing to the fact we already had two good, young spinners who are more than adequate and instead strengthened the batting side of things then it wouldnt be such a disgrace

i still cannot get my head around just why they have spent what must be a significant chunk of the budget on a player we simply didnt need

I do agree, although I don't think Monty is anywhere near as bad as you make out. A proper batsman and fast bowler is what we need. We kept the totally toothless Arafat as the bowler and are relying on the likes of Gatting and Thornely to plug the batting hole. That's where it's going wrong.

I agree to an extent, but a line up of Yardy Nash Goodwin Wright Gatting/Thornley Hodd/Prior Martin-Jenkins should be good enough on paper. Youngsters have to be blooded and a spot for Gatting/Thornley to fight it out is necessary.

The pitch has been turned around, because last season they had problems with sun getting in the Batsmans eyes - and apparently it's playing up. We get 220 (ahead) - we win.

Trust me.

RIGHT. Yasser bowled well with not luck what so ever on Sunday,as to the Monty issue tend to agree why is Beer not given a chance this is the second division for heavens sake. However i really think 4 day championship for to many players is 'old hat' there is no money or fame in it. When i go to Derbyshire and they are a poor side just look at the quality cars in the players car park, BMW,Audi,Mercedes they are there. The best thing to happened to English cricket would be SKY to walk away.

The rain saves us. The gods are the only chance we have of staving off relegation this season.

Its a close league now we have thrown some games away. Need to have another good run when it all resumes this winter after the 20 20 marathon.
