No toss we are going to bowl and Topley comes in for Haines.

12 noon start 80 overs to be bowled in the day.

I think Brown said Beer being promoted up the order to bat at number 3.

Heavy overnight rain, inspection at 10:30 - With our (Derbyshire) 4 day season effectively over, have rested players with an eye on T20 finals day. Good opportunity for you lot...
Sussex should win comfortably. By an innings.is not unlikely.

Yup - I should have said this is a great opportunity for Sussex regardless of Derbyshire resting some players!!
Lots of balls gone past the edge so far though and now Robinson off changes things... starting to look like Sussex might have to work harder

Northants and Gloucestershire are both off to good starts today.

If they win those games then their fixture next week has the look of Southampton v Tottenham in 1978.

Topley strikes! Off for rain at Northants
There is practically no more rain forecast anywhere for the next few days.

Medium range for next week looks similar for matches in Hove and Bristol - decent prospects to get most of the overs in across 4 days.
