Reminder as well that the likes of Jenks, Roberts, Spong and Tolaj are still technically U18s playing up a level. And these lads are in the third best U23 side in the country.
The U18s form has dropped off a cliff recently, quite possibly because their stars have moved on to U23 level. But the future is promising.
Gwargis, Cochrane and Yapi will be the next to tread the loan path from the summer on I would imagine.

Someone made this comment the other day, that Yapi couldn't have been too pleased that Lamptey was signed "ahead of him", as though Yapi was imminently about to be called in to the first team for Premier League matches.
I don't get it?
Yapi started the season as very much second fiddle to Archie Davies in the U-23s (Yapi only started 3 of their first 13 matches). It was only when Davies got injured that Yapi got a regular starting birth. Davies started for the "first team" against Villa in the Carabao Cup, with Yapi coming off the bench.
Since Davies has regained fitness he has started every match for the U-23s at right-back (Yapi has been slotted in as a right-midfielder).And yet no-one is posting about Archie Davies having his nose put out of joint by the signing of Lamptey.
In my mind, Lamptey has CLEARLY been signed as an immediate member of the first team squad, will probably be the regular starting right-back for the first team by the end of the season, and is MILES ahead of both Archie Davies and Romaric Yapi. And all the evidence points to Davies being the starting U-23 right-back ahead of Yapi, who is being utilised in midfield.
Are Albion fans biased against Davies because he was signed from Ratton Rangers rather than PSG?

It is interesting how the form of the U-18s has changed almost overnight. However, there hasn't been a significant change in the make-up of the line-up (Roberts hasn't played all season, other than in the FAYC matches, Jenks has only appeared in 3 non-FAYC matches and Spong's involvement has been fairly consistent). There is one change though - joint head coach Mikey Harris left the club at the end of October to join the FA. I wonder if that has affected the side? Impossible for us to know for sure.

Don't think there's any bias against Davies, but Yapi is one who consistently seems to have caught the eye - certainly his performances in matches this season have had many more mentions on NSC than Archie Davies. Is Davies a better, more solid performer, but not so eye-catching as Yapi? Yapi was certainly 'filling in', as you say, on the right wing today and looked outstanding, especially in the first half.

I thought Davies looked very good yesterday, but then Cox was my favorite wing back for a while and looks like his time has passed us by.
How do you see the new rules on loaning players affecting our set up A-Z.
Our system certainly looks like it has has gone speculate to accumulate recently, not sure how you keep up.
Has Cox’s time passed us by? He’s playing every week in Holland and doing well by all accounts. Must have a chance of coming back and competing for a place at left back. I wouldn’t say Burn or Bernardo have made that position their own yet and obviously Bong has gone now.

I wonder if the time it took for him to get into the team in the autumn was down to settling in in Brighton, or due to the language barrier etc. (more likely to be an issue for a French lad than one of the sea of Scandinavians we bring in).
And it may also be that Yapi is more versatile than Davies. Davies comes back from injury, Yapi moves forward and then we have both in the team. I don’t think it’s a case of one displacing the other.
