Pat Murphy BBC Midlands reporter stated this morning on his twitter page that Rhodes to DCFC was not going to happen. However,Derby would like to talk to Lansbury in Jan. Will Hughes to sign new contract offer too.

The deal is done, it would require both Derby and Fulham to back out. If Fulham want to proceed then that's that.... £11m though, would give us a bit of spending power in Jan.

Chris Martin has refused to play against Reading tonight and demanded a return to Derby...Derby Telegraph reporting now.

How is it no choice? If it's a load of money, you can say no. It's not like you're short of money.

Is that possible within the rules? We're not in a transfer window, so how can it be done to the point that Derby can't change their mind?
Yeah, players can be signed at any time but can't be registered outside of the window
A few hours on - you sure?

Not at all.
BBC Derby match report:

"Championship strugglers Wigan ended their five-match losing run with a goalless draw against play-off chasing Derby at Pride Park."

Assuming 89 points for automatic, after yesterdays draw they can only drop a max 17 points. Not going to happen.

In fact, looking at their fixtures (includes away at Leeds, Newc, BHA, Villa and Wendy) I'm not sure they will even make play offs

Sample quote from the Derby forum :

"We've taken 26 points from the last 10 games. We can't finish top 2 so all that matters this season is finishing top 6, not being there at the moment. We are on a fine upward trajectory and I expect we'll take out place among the others over the course of the next few games. So long as we're there after the last game of the regular season. Whether we've finished on 90 points or 78 it doesn't really make much difference. We'll have a 4-way knockout for the biggest prize in sport and there's none of the current 3-6th place teams I fear"

I've got to play devils advocate, as we can hardly pretend our task is complete. So let's start with the points requirement - if the top two teams carried on, they won't need to care about anyone else and 89 point wouldn't be enough for the chasing teams. Our concern is if we lose form here and there, and if we do, the total could easily be less than 89. Let's say 87.

Ignoring fixtures for a second, they need 47 more from 22 games. That's 2.13 points a game. Coincidentally exactly the same as we managed for the whole of 2016. Also note that Derby have just got 26 points from the last 10 games (obviously 2.6 average), so it's hardly unthinkable.

Now you're dreaming :) Those are a few tough fixtures, although us being one of them isn't great if we're trying to stop a team catching us, and there are only 4 others - not enough to stop them finishing in the playoffs.

Far from complete but I'm sticking with 89 for now, it looks a reasonable target

Yes they have got 26 points from 10 games but only 2 of those games have been against teams in the top 10 (where they won 1 and drew 1) ... they will not keep that scoring rate up

Then I've looked at the others. Muscling out Reading, Leeds and Wednesday at the minimum is going to be a challenge for them. They may overhaul Hudders but so might Villa and Fulham ... and Narch still might not be out of it if yet (at home v Derby tomorrow who are without Hughes for 2 games)

I might be in a group of 1 but I'm not so sure they're nailed on for play offs ... not yet anyhow

It's a reasonable target for us, yes. But if we drop off, I wouldn't be surprised if the 3rd placed team has less.

They don't need to keep that rate up.

They're certainly not nailed on, but they should do. They have the squad, they have the form. The only reason they're not higher is because of a poor start under a different manager.

So who do you think our main competition is Rugrat?

Their next 3 is a good test, Narch (A) Leeds (A) Reading (H)

Don't think k Derby will sign Rhodes or Lansbury but they will surely get Martin back by repaying the £3 loan fee. Surely no point in Fulham keeping an unhappy player.

It must depend on the wealth of the Fulham owner as if it was me and I could afford it I would keep him and not include him in games to prove a point that I wont be f...d about and also hinder Derby chances.
