Easy in the Prem. Infact 40k capacity is what is needed. London clubs would easily bring 7-8 thousand down.

Oh great, we'll build a stadium for them then? Let them make all the atmosphere (as away fans generally do).

That's not true. The 3000 figure is the minimum we would have to offer. The reason clubs rarely offer more is they know they can sell to home fans.

10% of 3000. The lesser of

Detrimental to us if we do go up though and those who think the likes of arsenal and man Utd will offer us higher numbers of tickets because of their capacity. It was what I was getting at, that we won't have to give more than that

Correct. Every big game away will be a ticket bin fest

Wonder how many Bums on seats will actually be there, the game against Burnley, could not help but notice the amount of empty seats at a venue that is Sold Out. I know its based on ticket sales including Season Tickets, maybe some form of reward could be given if you cant make it and you make your ticket available.

- A resell of tickets for those that can't make it is in operation for Derby.

No it's not easy. Certainly not for the Albion, the stadium's design and structure will not allow for any further expansion. Then you factor in the original planning consent for the number of fans attending in relation to transport requirements, God knows it's problematical now on occasions.

You have also got to be aware what is our realistic optimum attendance, which if we are successful, is around 30,000. Yes, on certain fixtures that number would be higher. The point is would you, and the club, prefer a part empty 40,000 seater stadium or a packed 30,000 one?

Think I've figured out the tickets that Derby have.

They were entitled to 2000. Their initial allocation was 1485. The 400 they don't need are in fact from the 2000 allocation, so they now have an allocation of 1600. I guess no one expected them to bring so few so wasn't practical to divvy up the ground better, and maybe Derby have paid for them anyhow.

1600 will fit quite nicely into S1B, S1C and S1D with small segregation areas.

If anyone really wants a ticket then some of these are still left and on sale in the Derby end on general sale

According to what has been released it would seem that Derby have S1B (minus a few rows next to S1A for Segregation).

I'm assuming that the vestibule in S1B is for Derby's use.

It's clear that Derby also have use of S1C and S1D. We can't really grab any more of S1D as I'm sure there are rules as to how far we can be from an exit.

If we were really going for minimum segregation, then in S1E rows 849 and 948 would be covered and you could still have Derby in the remaining 4 rows.

Even if those 4 rows remain empty, S1D and S1C alone are about 1300, so still confused, unless Derby have sold them in a bad way so all fans are not concentrated in one area.

S1B and the unused area of S1E take this total to over 2000. Which leave 1000 empties. Appreciate there is segregation, but as few as 200 could be for this purpose.

I reckon S1B S1C & S1D amount to 1484 and a segregated S1E to about 400 (down from about 630). It does not seem very likely that Derby will sell 1484 tickets though?

Gawd knows what time to leave in the morning? After Fulham I don't trust the trains at all anymore.

Quite. A club like ours is never going to need more than around 33,000 seats really. Blackburn have a 30k all seater and only filled it 3 or 4 times in their title winning season. Derby, Middlesbrough, Leicester and Southampton all have around 32-35,000 seats and are all the sort of size we want to see ourselves as broadly similar to. Given we're only about 1,000-3,000 short of these capacities, any expansion to the Amex capacity would surely only involve squeezing up the seats in certain parts of the ground rather than wholesale structural change, and even that is unlikely IMO. Afterall, we've only sold out twice in a season as exciting and hopefully rewarding as this!

Couldn't agree more.

It would be amazing to see us in a massive stadium and filling it out, but that is about 50 years off even if everything went spectacularly for the club, we became a global force, signed massive players etc. - It simply isn't going to happen!

We could probably squeeze some seats up but there is no point in having less comfort just because 5% of the time we might be able to sell more tickets.

Bournemouth have done OK with 12,000 and QPR with 18(?),000. We have a perfect stadium for our size

How many times has the Amex actually sold out? We haven't managed it much this season and we have our best chance of reaching the top flight in 30 years. It doesn't need to be expanded purely on the basis that a really big game might come along two or three times a season

There is still a whole row of seats missing at the central part of the WSU. Also, there seems to be potential for bit more space on the wings of the ESU

Also, on the basis I've never seen the 1901 full maybe relocate the 1901 east stand back to the west middle and convert the east stand seats to regular ones which will mean a few more.

Oh. And make the north safe standing.........

The ESL 1901 seats, and the layout of them, are identical to the 'normal' seats in the adjacent blocks.

All seats are normal, but some are more normal than others!

I stand corrected - sorry kingcole - the spacing 20 in a row, against 23 in the row in front, means that if they ripped them all out and re-installed them like the lower rows, the area could accommodate an additional 42 seats.

If The Amex had seats packed in like the away end at Charlton it would be only behind Old Trafford as the biggest capacity ground in the country.

Train and beer queues would be interesting.
