I've always disliked them since I was a kid.

I sort of forget about it until I spoke to a Southampton fan at work when they got relegated.

He said that Crouch would score them out of the league, because they would probably play a long ball game (the way all teams outside the premiership play) and they (because having players of a higher quality) would be better than anyone else at it.

He was serious.

I f*cking hate them.

A general loathing compounded by the stitch-up. It goes back to around 1970 when their fans caused mayhem in the town after a pre-season friendly. Hated them ever since.
