He reckons League One Leeds are bigger and better than Premier League Derby.

Yeah they may be shit, but they're still a bigger club.

With an average gate of 27K they are not bigger than Derby, but are bigger than Boro, Birmingham, Reading, Blackburn, Fulham, Bolton, Pompey and Wigan

Derby managed to attract all of 288 more people to their home match against Chelsea in the Premiership than Leeds got in League One at home to Huddersfield.

Leeds are definitely a bigger club than Derby, regardless of the division.

In 1999 Coventry were in the Prem and Man City were in Division Two. Man City have always been and will always be a bigger side than Coventry...but by your logic Coventry were bigger just because they were two divisions higher?

Outside of Birmingham, they're the biggest club currently in the Midlands. Pus they never get on the managers back, they know that they're shit and going down, rather than Leeds who just expect to be in the Premier League within 3 years.

I believe Derby are the better if not bigger club

What about Villa (Edit or do you mean the City of Birmingham)

Is that any different to our fans who will expect to be in the premiership within 3 years of Falmer being built

Not going to happen though, they're the dreamers who are never happy.

Maybe within 15 but not 3

Also I did say outside of Birmingham meaning the city

Leeds V Huddersfield is a local derby though.

Even so, how many derbies in League One would you expect to attract a bigger crowd than a Premiership match against Chelsea? Compare another two games - Leeds got 271 more at home to (non-local) Millwall than Derby got at home to Blackburn. Fact is, Leeds are the bigger club.

What annoyed me more was the way he said it.

It's not his fault he's got half a bollock and his mother clearly smoked too much during her pregnancy. Mind you I would too if I'd been raped by an Oompa Loompa (sp?)

Dennis Wise is a f***ing IDIOT!

However in this instance he is CORRECT. Leeds are without doubt a BIGGER club than Derby!

I'm sure there's been a thread about 'Big Clubs' before :)cantbearsedtolook:) and it was clear that being a big club is not about the present, its about HISTORY. Quite clearly READING, DERBY, WIGAN and POMPEY to name but a few in the Prem are NOT bigger clubs than Leeds!

Doesn't take away from the fact they're a bunch of wankers mind you!

I caught the last couple of minutes of last nights game and heard Beckford's interview, he doesn't seem the brightest match in the box, but I suppose you don't have to be and that's why you have agents

I love these "my club is bigger than your club" threads!

Leeds have Dennis Wise as a manager and therefore have relinquished all rights to the label of big club, until they get rid of that little shite they are officially a small club. Derby are one of those nothing clubs.
