Why sign him? To make money. Your commodity point is, in my view, right.

i believe Tony is running something similar to a horse racing stud (without the sex). He’s investing in players that may make it with us or elsewhere.
That's as good a definition of the business model as any :lolol:

To be fair he was utter pony when he played for us in the EPL. Proved he can score in a lower league and we get good money for him! Works out well for all!
He only played 614 minutes, yet scored 5 goals and got 2 assists. I wish all our strikers were that pony!

Good player & great finisher - shame it didn't work out with us, but a tidy profit nonetheless.

EDIT: And when you say "To be fair" aren't you then supposed to be, y'know... fair?

Very harsh to say he was "utter pony." In fact, when he had a run in the team, he scored a few goals. Good ones too - delightful chips at Arsenal, and in the thrashing of Wolves at home. Strongly suspect that if he'd played more, he'd have scored more. But with everyone fit he was never going to be a starter hence why he moved to Stuttgart. As you say at the end of your post, this is a sensible and good move for both club and player.

Absolute theft. Enormous congratulations to the club for pulling off this absolutely outrageous burglary. We haven't pulled Stuttgart's lederhosen down, we've taken it off and gifted it to ravenous seagulls to defile. This is one of the most incredible consensual heists (not involving Chelsea) in the history of football.

I am excited to bounce this thread come the end of the season when he's flopped like an Olympic diver throwing in a cannonball.

So.... no need to guess who drove him there then! 😀

Think with the right team set up he would have got a decent number of goals. Not the fastest or most dynamic but best finisher at the club IMHO

I'd compare Undav to Jermaine Defoe. He'd get you goals but after that...15 years ago he'd probably be playing for a top six side. Funny how football moves on.
