[Albion] Demand for away tickets

Will demand for away tickets increase at some point just in case, well - you know, there might be a few extra away games next season?

I know this will trigger a "now you've done it Bozza", and I'll be blamed as we slide down the table, get relegated, and the most exotic away game we have next season is Middlesbrough.

However, in my defence...

1. What I write on here has absolutely no influence on the results of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club.

2. This hadn't crossed my mind before someone (I can't remember who now) at the game on Saturday mentioned they might start upping their away attendance to keep their loyalty points tally up "just in case".

Well I am. now thinking of doing Villa away which is at a very awkward time. But yes- points mean prizes!

I've definitely had an eye on next season for a while, but it's also been such an exciting time that I want to go to as many games as possible anyway

The primary purposes was to track my points (I'm sure there was an occasion where it wasn't added but didn't follow it closely enough to complain) but it's useful to refer to for on sale dates and how many points have typically been required at what point in the season. Anyway, the long and the short of all this is that where the tickets are selling out point is more or less identical to last year when demand was high due to the European games. Demand it seems is still high.

The acid test would be Stoke away in the FA cup again.

Yes, that Stoke game was ridiculous on several counts...

1. The sheer number of people who went.
2. The number of people who bought tickets with no intention of going, hoping they got the points.
3. The people scanning multiple tickets on their way into the ground.
4. Me having to share the back seat of a car with two others there and back, In the morning I had a sense of humour failure, announced I wasn't going but did after being convinced "it won't be that bad". It f***ing was.

To be fair, anyone prepared to watch a game in that stadium deserves triple points and the freebie Nyetimber dished out last season ….. oh, and they definitely need good distance vision or opera glasses too.

Away game take up is primarily driven by how well the team is playing. Not so much for future potential benefits but more for the enjoyment of the here and now.

But was it an electric car? I think I had 5 of us in my car that day but still had the rear seats up so the kids didn't have to sit 3 across the back seat.

Did you get the middle seat of the 3? Yep parked at the harvester and fully charged on my return after the game. Only had a very quick splash and dash on way back at Beaconsfield (superb Indian street food there and cobham)

Sheffield United away last season the chap in front of me at the turnstiles was scanning at least 4 tickets but the stewards came over to help him as they thought he had a problem and he got all flustered then dashed through. Think he only managed 2 or 3 before he ran away.

Im hoping demand doesn’t pick up. My boys haven’t had their season tickets very long they are both in the lowest priority group. So chances of getting away tickets is rare. If i had been on the ball I could have probably got Leicester tickets. It’s probably wishful thinking that West Ham being just before Xmas means take up might be lower and give us a chance of tickets.

I've done Newcastle and Liverpool away this season, which I probably wouldn't normally have done - partially to keep my loyalty points up, but mainly because these are great times to be following The Albion. For perhaps the first time in our history we can go to places like Anfield and think we've got a decent chance of a result. I'd hate to look back in a few years' time (when perhaps things aren't so good) and wish I'd made the most of this season.

Do know a few that were doing more aways than they might normally do last couple of seasons to keep the total up for Europe. However now they really have the bug and are keeping it up as they love it so much.
