". maybe the top 8 teams in the Prem is not that much more than the top Championship teams. People seem to be terrified of the likes of Newcastle, Brighton and Villa. We have what it takes to beat those teams now, let alone after we've improved the squad, which seems to be well underway. Stop worrying ..."

They couldn't beat ****ing Luton and Cardiff a few weeks ago, and they've since lost their POTS!

Preseason in a week or 2 and their manager hasn't even signed a contract :moo:

When they say the strengthening of the squad is well underway, do you think that means that they have been linked with virtually every has been that’s ever played football, in the local press? Or that they have brought players into the squad as I can see no evidence of the latter

They mean they've signed the keeper who was on loan, and extended the loan of someone else. Woohoo!

Meanwhile...

am I reading this right, this person is comparing the top of the championship to the top eight in the prem? If they had said bottom 8 in prem is maybe not much more than top of championship then at least I could understand where he is coming from (I genuinely (and wrongly) thought that in our promotion year we would be much closer to the bottom 8 teams in the prem than we were). The gap between the two leagues is a very large one, and the gap between top and bottom of the prem is as large or even larger. Wolves and Sheffield have done exceptionally well, but its unlikley a third team in such a short space of time will do the same, however big they think they are

Liverpool and Man City will be quaking in their boots at the thought of it.

:lolol:

I can't wait till Man City go to Elland Road and stick 8 past them before halftime. If that's the first day of the season, so much the better.

The person clearly means the bottom eight- and they have a point, a bit. They can't go in as they are.

When Albion came up I pretty much said the same thing. Strengthen in some key areas and you will compete. But they will need 3-5 new signings to enter that group. Norwich City suffered for it. Conversely, I don't know what Villa were up to. The gulf isn't that big.

I expect City would go have to go quite defensive to ensure Patrick Bamford doesn't run riot.

All adds to the delusion...they are infinitely more likely to be a Fulham or Norwich than a Sheff Utd or Wolves, with or without Bielsa, particularly if we steal their best player despite everything :D

I disagree; and the deluded Leeds fan is claiming they're already as strong as the bottom 8 without making key signings. We were just as good as Leeds in 16/17, and if we'd gone into 17/18 having not signed Ryan, Propper, Gross and Izquierdo, as well as having lost Lewis Dunk, we'd have been toast.

The latest delusion in the clut of Leeds is that Bielsa spotted Ben White while White was on loan at Newport. I'm sure Bielsa was scouting League 2 for potential signings while he was at Lille or unemployed, either that or his crystal ball has been working overtime.

We just get shouted down though when we mention our manager wanted him at his old club, cause that's just not possible. They must put something strong in the water up there.
