I don't see there's any problems with the lads character, and I think there's every chance he'll get his career back on track, I just think that if we're busting the bank, attacking midfield isn't the position to be doing it for

Another player screwed over by Mourihno. A change of scenario is what he needs.

Ah the old "bad attitude" chestnut - The chinese whispers of sowing the seeds of discontent around a player about whom we know almost nothing of their personal lives

We could rekindle the 'We got Knockaert song' and substitute Alli's name in...sure that might work

Not sure what makes DA a 'dickhead', but the lack of evidence of his dickheadish behaviour makes me doubt that he is one.

Aside from that –*because, let's face it, there probably ARE some dickheads in the team*– has the whole wages thing been blown out of proportion? I've only read the headline, admittedly, but I saw Martial has taken a MASSIVE pay cut to move away from MUFC. Presumably he just wanted to play and was willing to make a sacrifice to do that.

Maybe Alli – and others – will be thinking the same. Maybe he will come to the Albion and fit straight in. Who knows? Probably not the people who have labelled the poor guy a 'dickhead' :dunce:

For what its worth, if he didn't break the wage policy I think purely as a footballer I would want players of this quality to be attracted to our club.It might be the move that enables him to get back to his best and that is very good. GP with his style and obvious man management skills may be the guy that Ali needs.

Most people (Not all) react to the environment around them, if we can get him to react to the obvious good environment currently in the club it could be an extremely good deal to purse or he can be a Billy Big Balls and ruin it? But saying all that I would be really surprised if he came to ''Little old Brighton'' the team that everyone should but cant beat.

I wish people would stop quoting the non existent no dick-heads rule. If there was one, a number of players wouldn't still be employed by the club. All clubs have dick-heads, if they are good enough then their indiscretions are ignored.

Quite. Especially as the bloke who came out with the aforementioned quote turned out to be................a bit of dickhead and is no longer with the club!

Sussex but not by the sea
All day long. Quality player who has suffered due to injury and potential mismanagement.
He could do for us what Lingard did for WHU last season.
I didn’t realise he was only 25. He’d immediately become our 2nd best midfielder (if our best one stays!)

Lallana certainly had a pay cut.

Welbz nowhere near his Man U or Arsenal wages

Heard that Lamptey turned down a new contract with higher wages that we offered to come here and play.

It's not out of the realms of possibility that he comes to get his career back on track. Anyone with half a footballing brain can see the type of football we play and the spirit of the team. To be invited to join that squad, for any player in the game for the football and not the money, must give it a really hard look.

The reality is, a few more goals here and there and we'd be proper Europe contenders.

He showed his qualities for England.

After a revolving door of coaches at Spuds including bitchy Mourinho, he needs a patient coach of quality with people skills.

Graham Potter ticks all the boxes.

But I’m not sure TB would, in a auction, pay the extravagant loan fee and wages.

I agree that we won't do a deal which makes no financial sense, but if we can get a deal done for a full England International footballer - I suspect we will. I'm not sure whose position he'd take though, I wouldn't want him to come in at the expense of Moder or Mac Allister because those boys could be our next 5 years.

Lovely to have even more options.

There are so many EPL games where we outplay the opposition, but just lack that cutting edge.

Before this long trough of form, Dele Alli was a quality goalscorer.

Would like this loan to happen, but up against the Saudi's and all the other clubs who chuck money at transfers/wages.

Hopefully he'll make a decision based on what's best for his career - like Martial taking a pay cut to join Sevilla who intend to play him in every game. Alli needs to play regular football, but the issue for us is that I don't know we would offer him that. When Bissouma is back and Lallana is fit again, places in our midfield are incredibly competitive because Alzate doesn't deserve dropping.

We’d be the best option for him to revive a career but I just can’t see it for all the reasons people have posted. Wages, attitude, and the fact we have a lot of young midfielders starting to get minutes and do well. More to come into the side too after a preseason. He’d have to really want to come here for it to be a good idea.

Terribly overrated and I really don’t think he is better than what we have.

A year ago I was very vocal about Jesse Lingard being exactly what you've written there. I thought he was rubbish and would offer nothing to any team he went to, other than disrupting the dressing room with his childish antics. Then he battered in a really impressive run of goals and assists and shut me right up. If Dele Alli came to us and had half the impact Lingard had on West Ham, and I thoroughly believe our team is just as good now as theirs was last season, then we'll finish in the top 10.
