him and rooney has NEVER worked as a strike partnership - lets hope gambling that it does today pays off

He needs another Wigan moment and he needs it now.

If he does have one, I may forgive him for being a gap toothed gobshite who talks drivel at 300 miles an hour.

Lennon set up all but one of his goals that day.

I would of started him as those too seem to click

Have they been given much of a go?

two games spring to mind - egypt at home which was dire until defoe was hauled off at half time, and likewise andorra away when we found ourselves at 0-0 at half time

i am struggling to think of one international game that defoe has started in which he has been anything other than mediocre. that needs to change today!

NOt sure on Gerrard on the left it but if it is not working you have Lennon to bring on when their players are tiring and Crouch on for Defoe or Rooney.

This is such a massive chance for our boys. Beat Slovenia, then Serbia(?), then Uruguay and before we know it were in the Semi Finals.

Sounds so easy doesnt it ??????

Are Lampard, Gerrard & Rooney 'undroppable' ?
Without trawling through line ups for friendlies, I'm presuming this would tell us the answer?

I don't think Gerrard and Lampard were bad at all against the USA, by the way, so hopefully they will play well again.
