5 years ago I went to a dodgy Tattoo/ Massage Parlour for an Albion tattoo and a back rub.

They offered me a happy finish for an extra £20.


I now have a picture of Sami Hypia in a good mood on my arse.

A parlour is a room in the front of the house where you hold receptions (hence its use in funerals). It comes from the French word parler (to speak), so it’s quite literally a ‘talking room’. A lot of tradespeople at one point started to run their businesses at the front of their house, hence why we refer to many of them today as parlours.

It's best not to choose the shop, but choose the Artist. Instagram is probably the best place to look these days.

It will depend on which style of tattoo you want, but if realism is your thing, then Gulliver (as per BNthree's post) is highly recommended, but doesn't come cheap.
