Sure, but you'll be familiar with the newspaper called the Independent which was formed to be free from proprietor influence AND party political bias.
The Guardian uses a different definition of independence and, despite taking the moral highground, offers a myopic view of the world.
Don't recall saying it was the only newspaper that was independent. Not sure why it's the moral highground, it is what it is, as with the Independent, 2 outlets that don't have paywalls, or financed by rich billionaires. There were 3 newspaper outlets that fought against going to war in Iraq in 2003, The Guardian, Independent and the Mirror, the rest of Fleet Street banged their war drums. Hardly myopic.
