Im not a big fan of The Lemonheads but their version of Mike Nesmith's Different Drum is my very piece of music of all time.

Biffy Clyro did an excellent version of Rhiannas Umbrella

But I have to say nothing tops Johnny Cashs Hurt. He also did a pretty good job of covering Soundgardens Rusty Cage as well.

I liked Bruce Dickinson's version of 'All the young dudes' which to a large extent just sounded like a better-recorded version of the original. There was one change though: as opposed to singing "My brother sits at home with his Beatles and his Stones he changed it to "My father sits at home ..."

recently not much, surprise surprise, but I did hear Urthboy do a ripping version of London Calling on Triple J's Like a Version the other Friday.
Personal faves would have to be;
Emma & Gimme Shelter - Sister of Mercy (the all time best cover band ever, say it ain't so);
Pressure Drop, Time is Tight, Police On My Back etc.... - The Clash;
Sister Ray - Joy Division;
I Am The Walrus - Oasis;
10:15 Saturday Night - The Living End

Johnny Was - SLF
