My missus is a stickler for this - they MUST be switched on on the evening of 1st Dec WITHOUT FAIL.

Its an anniversary, her [deceased] dad's birthday and the date we lost our first child - so the lights have a meaning in our household with a significance to the 1st Dec.

Tonight's the night ...

I can resonate with that mate, my daughter was murdered three Christmases ago (In Telford) and past two I have spent on my own, and no lights or anything, did not feel I could but this year I am gonna do the tree and decorations, the whole thing. Sad time but I now feel ready to do it. Hope you have a good xmas mate

Mine normally go up the first weekend in December but as I am off work this week we did it today.

They normally go up when I can be bothered (usually never). But seeing as I'll be in Egypt from 22 Dec for 2 weeks, I don't think I'll bother this year.

mmmmmm, Xmas on the beach.

Time does eventually melt away the grief, the the memory will always live on.

Was she the one stabbed in the church yard?
