I need to get some base layers and a fleece plus some “man leggings” for trail running. I reckon their range looks quality enough for those bits. Climbing shoes are only for low height bouldering so they’re fine .
It’s the hiking boots I’m in two minds about. I do a lot of walks anything from 10 miles to 25 miles so they need to be quality.

Yep, you'll be fine with base layers and stuff from there I'm sure - For boots, I guess it depends where you're walking, if you're doing the downs etc, I'm sure their stuff is fine - If you're going somewhere a bit more rugged you may want to go to a more specialist shop. You may have to travel a bit for that one though there must be decent places in London.

Bought one of the £25 pair from there and use them for 15 mile walks with no issue including when it's ankle deep in mud or wet from dew

West is BEST
Well, I went last week and purchased some decent walking boots, a day pack, some light weather boots, a coat and some base layers. Have putvall to the test in some pretty grim weather and am happy to report that thus far I’m very impressed. All good breathable kit , comfortable and endured some pretty heavy rain and some mizzle. I wasn’t hot or bothered, not was I cold and felt comfortable throughout a 17 mile hike in the rain.

There was a hell of a lot of labels to cut off! But a minor quibble.

The backpack is the thing I’m most impressed with, didn’t feel like I had it on. Very good indeed .
