I'm afraid this reflects more on you than him. You could do worse than listen to one of these programmes and learn how many of his jokes you have laughed at over the years.

And responsible for a HUGE amount of BBC comedy output over the years. I can't recall exactly what he's written, but I know it's vast in volume, and when I've heard him on the radio, he's always been quite funny, in an old-school, Ronnie Corbett sort of way.

I actually had to look up how he spelled Starr and was reminded of his original name and threw it in for clarity on a whim. More to remind everyone his original name was not Ringo. Looking back I see it was unnecessary.

Spot on. Morecambe and Wise, Two Ronnies, Kenny Everett, Rory Bremner etc etc. Barely a mainstream comedy show in the 70s-90s that he wasn't writing for.
