Don't think so - wasn't he just given a 3 month contract?

I'm not sure about a contract but I know he gave himself 3 months after commencing training to see if his knee would hold out.

A cruciate knee injury normally takes about a year to get completely right which is why Rodger is only just about ready now (Sept) so he hasn't strung us along.

He has made a decision now that it isn't going to improve any more so all that really needs to be said is goodbye and thanks.

A big thanks and all the best of luck to Deano. His playing career with the Albion was short, but his contribution was immense as a quality partner for DC at the back in the season that ended a week too soon.

I know all about that only too well as my own modest football career was ended at 23 by the same injury.

Just to clear something up, I wasn't making any reference to Rodger and his injury in my original post. I was just stating that Blackwell could have strung us along for more wages instead of making a quick decision on his injury.

Just in case this is what the quoted paragraph above was suggesting.

If not, just ignore

It's tough, but I can do great party tricks by bending my legs the wrong way

:lolol:

Ned still has to wear a leg brace occasionally and has proved the old adage of being able to tell when is going to rain. He really does get pain in the joint before it rains :D

I only wish I had a leg injury as an excuse for being really CRAP at football.

An honourable decision by Dean on the advice of 2 specialists...

Good luck to him in all he does in the future...

Meanwhile, we should use the money that would have been spent on his wages to sign a target man... I hope the Nicolas money is already in the budget... it should be!...

Sorry to hear about Dean having to retire. He was a great player for us when he played. I wish him luck with everything he's going to do in the future.
