Is there a strong anti hunt presence down there as I am sorely tempted to leave work early and get down there to hurl some abuse at these wankers.

Publicity, that's what it achieves.

They will no doubt claim Blair etc drove them to it, and it was the only way they could make their point.

Absolute shits, the lot of 'em. I hope this stunt turns people even more against them.

Yuk, I hope they clear it away before this evening. I'm tempted to phone the Withdean burger people to hurry things along.

On a train...
What a load of f***ing arseholes.

What must if be like not only for the poor horse, but the passer by who has too see that sort of thing?

I don't really think it gives sympathy to the pro hunt bastards. More a feeling of a load of pathetic murdering scum.

And as someone else says, all this will do is make trouble more likely, as it will wind up the anti-hunt campaigners.

Guess who gets stuck in the middle- the people of Brighton & Hove (where I'd hazard a guess that fox hunting isn't a big attraction anyway) and the Sussex police, who will inevitably have to suffer months of whinging toffs complaining they've been twatted with batons.

Apparently the stake had the slogan, ''Ban hunting and there'll be plenty more of these''.

I'm off down there after work.

Taken From The Country Alliance Website:

Working dogs & Working people"
Labour Party Conference in Brighton on Tuesday 28th September
The Countryside Alliance will be holding a major “working dogs – working people” demonstration at the Labour Party Conference in Brighton on Tuesday 28th September.

The demonstration will start at 12:00 noon with a rally of working dogs drawn from Hunts and Clubs, as well as those accompanying their owners, from across the south of England. During the rally those without dogs, and a selected small delegation with working dogs, will march a short distance up to the Conference Centre. There they will protest against the prejudice and discrimination of those Labour politicians who remain obsessed with pursuing a total ban on hunting. Those with dogs who do not form part of the selected delegation will be asked to remain in Madeira Drive.

All demonstrators are to assemble at 12:00 noon in Madeira Drive, on the sea front to the east of the Palace Pier. It is anticipated that the demonstration will be over by 3pm. The Police will not allow anyone with any other animals, including horses, to join the demonstration.

Hunts and clubs from all over the South of England will be bringing their hounds to the rally. Everyone else is encouraged to join them, with or without their dog, but remember that in the months to come there will be many more demonstrations across the rest of the country.

Parking for coaches and hound transport only can be pre-booked in Madeira Drive by contacting Peter Setterfield on 01798 344720 or by email.

There is car parking in the Marine Parade area. Marine Parade is the road from Brighton sea front to the Marina. The demonstration will also be easily accessible by public transport.

(There are major road works on the A23 into Brighton south of the A27 Brighton by-pass and therefore vehicles should enter Brighton by the A270 or alternative routes)

What to Bring:

Working Dogs – which MUST be on leads or couples
Pooper scoopers
Water and water bowls for your dogs
Placards

As Churchill would have said:

Drive the Hun (T) into the Sea and let them perish!

Anyone feel like letting a few cats loose on Madeira Drive .... just watch them try and control those hounds ... bastards!!!!!!
