Would the deal to release him from his contract include some sort of agreement that he can't sign for another club within a certain timeframe? Otherwise we might as well just have clung on to him as we'd have got compensation for the outstanding year (?) on his contract.
Good question, the club are never exactly forthcoming with this stuff, but it’s possible - more likely an unenforceable gentleman’s agreement not to join a divisional rival. The problem is with these types of exit agreements is they very often wouldn’t actually hold up if tested in a court of law, because they are usually deemed anti-competitive and restrict freedom of work which is protected by EU legislation.

We’ll almost definitely never know.

But if you have a compensation clause in your contract (which he will do), then part of the mutual agreement that you can walk away from that contract might include you effectively having to go on gardening leave for a bit or a prospective new employer having to fork out a bit of compo if you want to take a new job before then. Surely?

I think in this case the club has mutually agreed to terminate the contract in the interest of both parties. In other words, the club and RDZ both want out. No compensation for us or for him, just a clean break - possibly with an agreement not to join a divisional rival, but not necessarily.

This seems likely. The quid pro quo for us missing out on a fee from potential suitors is that we don’t pay up his contract. Suggests we were probably just as keen to move him on as he was to leave by the end.

Como 1907. Just been promoted to serie A. Richest club in Italy, major shareholders are Tierry Henry and Cesc Fabregras, Denis wise also an advisor for them. Based un Lombardy near to Brescia where RDZ is from.

Napoli a good shout.

ManUre.

It's the sort of exciting signing their new half arsed English semi-owner would regard as an exciting signing that will bring back the style and elan he has be told were the hallmark of what ManUre are all about. Oh yes.
He'd probably feel at home at another club where his key players spend half the season in the treatment room.

Cesc is actually manager of Como. Well, legally an assistant manager because he doesn't have UEFA Pro licence yet but should get it in time before next season.

also, last I've read is Napoli is going all in on Conte.

Italian's would have heart attacks with De Zerbi ball. not sure done enough for a major England or German club. probably end up somewhere more fringe with a Europen berth for the season.

Sounds like a coach who’d give us many magic moments..

Edit: Oh… Misread, Como is the team, not the coach… my attempt at being funny may have got lost there. 🙄

Will he sign on the dotted line out on the pitch after the Lap of Appreciation?
Yes. And (you heard it here first), brace yourself for the two managers to cross the neutral zone to swap technical areas as a symbolic gesture at the final whistle.

I just hope he doesn't take a PL job. It's been a roller coaster ride and I'd like to remember the good stuff. In the same way we do CH.

as opposed to the charisma bypass guy, whatshisname. . . I've neer been great at remembering names, maybe I need a history lesson.
