From my observations I’ve heard enough of the excuses now, call me old fashioned but I’d like to hear more about what he’s going to do about it to put it right. Even if it lacks detail and simply is a call for “hot blood and big balls” cmon man show some fight, we need to be ready on Thursday

I can see RDZ’s gripe, if it wasn’t for his coaching ability we aren’t in the top six and selling a certain midfielder for £115m.
With Mac that’s a £165m return for the midfield Crown Jewels.
In an ideal world 70-80m goes back into squad strengthening those two positions and not promoting last seasons third choice to 1st choice.

Don't think the club's structure allows us to easily drop-in expensive, experienced players.

For better or worse, Bloom seemingly wouldn't go the extra mile for either Kudus or Dewsbury-Hall - and they're the ones we know about.

It's great having a passionate manager, when we're winning matches, but we don't seem to like the flip-side.

We were shit yesterday.
The team he put out was shit.
We lost badly.

It hurt everyone of us and I doubt there are many amongst us that haven't lashed out a bit at some one we think is to blame.

RDZ has not actually lashed out directly at anyone.
Just made factually true statements.
He has consistently said our squad is not strong enough to compete on three fronts.

He doesn't want to compromise on any of them.
A lesser manager would have put out the under 21s on Wednesday and played for a point yesterday.

Don't blame him for making some harsh, but true statements on what he knew was the likely outcome from this season.

He is a good coach but maybe the ego has started to kick in, if he is being tapped up by the likes of barcelona maybe his head is not focussed on the job. If he has decided to leave he may be putting all of his eggs in the europa league basket. Hence yesterday’s bizarre team selection. A trophy on his CV would look better than 7th in the prem. The one thing that will be constant is Tony Bloom and I trust his judgement over RDZ.

Fati coming back from yet another injury and Dahoud already shipped out. I think people need to raise their game if they are blaming Roberto for them.

It is no good turning on de Zerbi now, after a couple of poor results. The guy has done a brilliant job , taking the club to places we only dreamed of . We have seen young players develop into Premiership quality. It is not his fault that we have faced a shocking spell of injuries this season.
You can grumble about a couple of transfers in that did not work, but that happens at all clubs. It seems that some of us feel entitled to success all the time... Who are we? Chelsea?
To my mind it would not be a bad thing if we did lose to Roma. It would allow us to have a clear run in the League.
Everyone admires the set up here at Albion, except some of our supporters it seems.

Are people turning on De Zerbi? I think 99.9% of fans are more concerned that he might be turning on the club.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say. There will be thousands (tens of thousands?) of players in the StarLizard database. Different players would be suitable signings depending upon who the current Albion manager was and their particular style of play. It has consistently been reported that the manager has the final say on whether a player signs or not.

I’m saying that Dahoud and Fati would likely have been high up, out of thousands of players, on Starlizard lists. Also taking into account the cost outlay and risk, very much part of TB’s system.

One thing I'm struggling with is that for me, this isn't a change of narrative from RDZ, he's been banging on about squad rotation, squad depth etc. since September and save our fantastic start to the season, as the table posted for the period between matchweeks 7 and 27, we have been a bang average side for a while now, for whatever reason, as the table doesn't lie. What has masked this has been our performance in Europe (and let's hope this continues this week!)

What was the catalyst for the bun fight on here for the last 24hrs - primarily his team selection. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, if RDZ had played Gross, Welbeck et al (he can't pick WBG or JP btw) and we'd have been beaten, would there have been the same reaction? The table between matchweeks 7 and 27 suggests that was entirely possible!

We can harp back to those draws that we "should have won" back in Oct/Nov, but the common theme with both those matches and our recent form is that we still can't put sides away who play the low block where we have 70% possession and 20 shots.

I also picked up from the Fulham presser that there were a few questions relating to fans thinking this, that and the other - RDZ didn't take well to this, but wouldn't most of us if someone is trying to tell you how to do your job?

Lastly loved the lazy journalism from Shearer on MOTD - only reference to Brighton was the goalkeeper rotation which came across as the reason why we lost (like plenty on here) Goalkeepers always take the blame when sides don't win whilst having 70% possession and 20 shots while being left ruthlessly exposed on the counter!

I don’t think his team selection was bizarre at all. Roma is a huge game in the context not just of this season but the club’s entire history. Plus several players clearly need protection in the schedule: Welbeck with his injury issues, Veltman only just back, Enciso not up to 90 minutes yet, Lallana never up to 90 minutes, Moder only just back, Fati with a long injury record, Adingra knackered after AFCON, Gross getting cramp at Wolves. He could have played a few of those from the start and lost them to more serious issues… we certainly wouldn’t be beating Roma OR finishing 7th in the Premier League then.

This isn't about his ego, or other jobs he is being linked with.
This is the reality of having an ambitious, tactically astute, passionate manager, being asked to compromise on what he needs.

He won't be able to do that.
And no reason why he should.

If the club won't stand in the way of players bettering themselves.
They stand no chance of holding onto de Zerbi.
