What on earth are you babbling on about. No one has suggested he's concerned about costs.

What we don't know is how his partner feels. Maybe she can't stand the place with some of the anti european bile being dished out.

Good then they can both f off! Him for millions and her on her arse!

Ajax has sold Frenkie de Jong for about €75 mln to Barcelona. It will sell De Ligt in the summer for a similar amount of money, if not more. Additionally, it will sell one or two extra players like Ziyech and Tagliafico for +- €35 mln each.

Its recent and ongoing success in the Champions League has deepen its pocket as well.

€30 mln for Propper is a price card which Ajax can easily muster.

Davy Propper was one of, if not our best, players up until Christmas.

But when we changed to the more attacking formation, he looked lost and was gash like the rest

Experienced International. Premier League hardened. The right age. Surely we should be building a team round the likes of Davy. If Ajax are sniffing around, I suspect he'll return to The Netherlands for what he may regard as a dream move. We might be well compensated but, as we now know, Kayal is no Propper. It would cost a lot to replace him with a player of similar calibre.

Does anyone else always sing “Davy, Davy Propper..king of the wild frontier” to the tune of “Davy Crockett” the 1960s TV series that re ran on Sunday Mornings I the late 1970s in their head whenever his name is mentioned?

No? It’s just me then.

Thought he was a bit ‘in and out’, buthrb went really off-form.

All of that said, he is a good player and it would be disappointing to lose him.

Still don't think there is room for both he and Gross in a pacey, attacking line-up.
For me, one of our biggest recent mistakes was signing two decent but slow number 10s, and then refusing to play one there ever and the other there last season.

I have already seen a Potter quote somewhere that fast-paced football is played by quick passing, not necessarily running. Let’s wait and see. I’ve often wondered this season if the players are too busy obeying instructions and systems instead of expressing themselves.

Of course we might express ourselves straight back to the Championship but it will be a breath of fresh air compared to some of the boring dross we’ve endured

Davy is one of only a handful of Albion players that can play the one-touch football Potter would like us to play. Selling him would be madness, unless we are talking serious money... £25m isn't serious enough. How much would it cost to replace a regular Dutch international?

We had a team, attack-wise, completely alien to each other. Maybe with this change of intent his passes would probe agreeably, and toward a teammate, but with his overall performances thus far i wouldn't be terribly upset if Ajax flung a profit in front of us.

I really hope we don’t lose Propper. Of all the players we have, he is the one I am most excited about being let off the leash by Potter. We should do everything we can to keep him.

Are you MAD. Passing the ball towards an ageing striker who can only score from 2 yards from the goal and couldn’t run for the last bus home is the Brighton way. Always has been, Always will be. Enough of this lunacy.

This. We should be putting a very high price on his head. This will force Ajax out of the deal. He is a very talented player wasted by Chris. Now he will get the chance to play with freedom here.

I can just imagine him joining Ajax then two years down the line joining a Spanish or Italian giant. We should build the team around him, criminally misused by CH in my opinion.

We need an urgent rebuild of central midfield this summer - of course the addition of Baluta and (hopefully) Mac Allister will be part of this, and I wouldn't be 100% surprised if Stephens goes as well.

I'm convinced we have 2 plans - 1 with, and 1 without, Davy Pröpper.

If Davy stays, we bring in just 1 new midfielder, if he goes it'll be 2.

We just need a big fee - if he does indeed move on.

Surely if they want him he goes?

It's such a bizarre drum for many on NSC to be banging away at.

In the whole scheme of things 'fast' footballers really don't come into it.
It's all about being in the right place at the right time, one step ahead of the opposition.

The player does very little, it's all about the ball, how, where and when it's played.

Any footballer can be 'fast' if he's alert to the possession, turned and moved to where the ball might be heading.
Any footballer can be 'slow' if he's waiting for the ball to be played to feet before turning to run at his opposite number.
