PSV does not want exact amounts, but technical manager Marcel Brands confirms that the club is out with Brighton & Hove Albion FC on a transfer from Davy Pröpper. Last winter, Zenit St. Petersburg reported to the 25-year-old midfielder and the Russian club then had fifteen million euros for him. "In this direction, you need to look for something in price," said Brands yesterday, who had to smile about the four million euros that English media called. The Dutch international extended last year's contract until the summer of 2020.
Pröpper went to the English coastal town yesterday to make a personal agreement with Brighton, which will be in the Premier League. In the world's biggest league, the Arnhemmer can dramatically improve financially. It is expected that the transfer, once Pröpper once approved, will be completed today. The midfielder's upcoming transfer took place this weekend. Last week, Brighton reported to PSV's management. The club made a bid that PSV could not refuse.

PSV does not play panic football, now the Europa League millions are missing this season. Pröpper is sold for the main price, so is the idea at PSV. The graceful Vitesse player who came to Vitesse in 2015 did not get in the best shape last season and is still sold at a solid price. The fact is that PSV had a hole in the budget. Indeed, the budgeted five million euros of Europa League revenue does not enter after the elimination against NK Osijek.
The question is how PSV receives the departure of Pröpper. Coach Phillip Cocu looks after Andre Guardado now another midfielder. It is likely that PSV is looking for a replacement. "We're going to look good. There are already a number of left with us, "Cocu said yesterday after training with FC Augsburg (0-0). Also Siem de Jong, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Rai Vloet left this summer." We will look at the possibilities But then it must be an absolute boost. If that's not the case then we have to look at how we fill in what we already have. "
Pröpper was a fixed value in the PSU of Cocu. He played a total of 89 official duels for PSV, scoring 22 and assisting 20 times. As mentioned, Pröpper missed the WWK Arena yesterday. Luuk de Jong was also absent, but according to PSV, the center team is not busy with a transfer. De Jong was recently linked with Hannover 96. Brands: "But that does not play now."
In any case, PSV is still looking for a leftback. HSV defender Douglas Santos is emphatically linked to the club. According to Brands, that is only a theme in the media.

Body language probably wasn't great because he'd rather keep any prospective deals low key rather than them been publicised on Sky for everyone to see.
So why was he on Sky in the first place? Just seems more likely to get other clubs sniffing around.

I assume the deal is done, just not announced yet... There is no way Barber would publicise it otherwise and he would have been aware that the question was coming up!

Best named player in the history of football.

That's a HUGELY bold shout.

I really hope you've sat down and considered Mark de Man, Peter Pander, Danger Fourpence, Bernt Hass and Nortei Nortey before coming out with that statement.

But if the deal was done, he could have said 'we've just made a record signing' whilst not confirming who it is. Instead he said 'if we get it over the line'. No need to say that if it wasn't true.

He wasn't publicising he seemed uncomfortable the question came up. It seemed to me that personal terms were still not fully agreed. The deal needs to get done today.
