Wasn't he also supposed to be half German?

I think there may have been some confusion there.

Dutch paper Eindhovens Dagblaad already reporting PSV manager talking about how he's going to cope wiithout Propper (warning - dodgy Google Translate). PSV played yesterday. Propper wasn't in the squad. On the way to the Amex.

"The question is how PSV takes care of the departure of Pröpper. Head coach Phillip Cocu looks after Andre Guardado now another midfielder. It is likely that PSV is looking for a replacement.

"We're going to look good. There are already a number of left with us, "said Cocu after the practice match with FC Augsburg (0-0). Siem de Jong, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Rai Vloet also left this summer." We will go to the market to see what The possibilities are, but then it must be someone who is an absolute boost for the selection. If that is not the case then we have to look at how we fill in what we already have, "said Cocu. "

and Eindhoven Dagblaad updated their story on this , slightly this morning with a little bit more detail about why PSV are selling (ie: they need the cash)

"PSV does not want to mention exact amounts, but technical manager Marcel Brands confirms that the clubs themselves are out. Last winter, Zenit St. Petersburg reported to Pröpper and then had fifteen million euros for him. "In that direction, you need to look for something in price," said Brands, who had to smile about the four million euros that English media called. The Dutch international extension last year is contract until the summer of 2020.

Pröpper went to the British coastal town on Sunday to reach a personal agreement. It is expected that the transfer will be completed once Pröpper has been officially approved.

Emergency
The sale of Pröpper seems to be a bit of necessity for PSV. Due to the failure of the main league of the Europa League, the Eindhoven club will have a gap in the budget of around 5 to 6 million euros. Therefore, a player must be taken away by August 31st.

The player himself was not present at the club's practice match against FC Augsburg (0-0) today. Goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet was the only bass player at PSV who was also on the run in Osijek on Thursday, where the Eindhoven club turned off in the third league of the Europa League. He put in place for Yanick van Osch. In the second half, Jorrit Hendrix, Hirving Lozano, Jürgen Locadia, Steven Bergwijn and Joshua Brenet appeared on the field for PSV, who failed to score in both duels with NK Osijek."

Pleased with this signing if it goes through and just need to get in the class striker, which I think will give us a good chance of staying up.

so desperate for cash they're forming a band?

Without going through the whole thread, I hope someone's mentioned singing this guy to play along side him.

Ever seen him play then?

To be honest no. But reading up on the player he is obviously well thought of in Holland played a high standard of football looks good in the videos I have seen. It also pleases me that he is signing for us because he has been mentioned by Palace fans as a player they would like and those who had seen him play thought he would strengthen their midfield, So all this together is why I am pleased if he signs for us.

Would you not be pleased if he signs then?

Unnecessary pedantry alert: that's not from the ED (Eindhovens Dagblad). The ED is my local paper, a slightly more intelligent version of the Argus. The AD (Algemeen Dagblad) is a Dutch national rag.

Presume the lad has been playing pre-season and will be fit to come straight into the team for Saturday?

There were 2 Europa League games. One on the 27th July where he played as a sub for 11 mins. He started on August 3rd in the 2nd leg where he played for 76 mins.
He missed PSV friendly yesterday as he was , according to some reports, watching Athletico Madrid.
