Almost seems a natural regression from that abhorrent new category - the celebrity travelogue. You know the one, where a TV parasite is whisked off to a Third World country to tell us (usually over four or five episodes) that said Third World country is poor but full of 'life and lovely people' Ooooh the culture, oh for sleeping under a blanket and living off pigs' intestines. Caroline Quentin's Passage Through India is still my candidate for the worst TV programme in living memory. The most patronising, plodding, lazy fodder for thickos who probably hadn't heard of India before our beloved Caroline unveiled its 'hidden beauty'. Horrible programme, horrible presenter.
